I think FDB will be a success.not seen the highlights yet but by the sounds of it things are starting to come together.

New manager,new system,will take time.
Allardyce didn't hit the ground running either.

Frank will get it right.

Our first win under him was the 6th league game with him in charge, a 2-0 win at Bournemouth. The next game was the 0-4 debacle at home to Sunderland !

Followed by defeat to Stoke.
Then the missing link SAKHO played in a 4 game winning streak.
We need Mamadou back.

I dont like it. Frank said he likes to dominate the ball. Ive seen very little of that, we had 27% possession yesterday.. Benteke is totally unsuited to this system, nothing coming in from the flanks and we even took short corners yesterday. We should have bought Chicarito instead who would have suited it more. To me its a defensive system which creates very little and doesnt suit us. Thank goodness for Loftus-Cheek who looks immense

I hope Frank was watching and considering Chelsea's 3-5-1-1 vs Spurs today. If we're going to play 3 or 4 at the back this should be considered, especially when you want to build the side around 3 highly talented midfielders in Cabaye, Luka and Loftus-Cheek.

I don't like the idea of 3 of our players so far away in a 3-4-3 and our wingers being picked up compared to previously running at them with pace.

Indeed. There was the chance Punch had in the first half that showed how, if done correctly, we can move from defence to attack very quickly and effectively. As soon as RLC picked it up & ran into the space in front of him the three ahead of him seemed to react well making runs that opened their defence up.

They just need to do that 5 or 6 times a game & we should start banging goals in (and putting opponents on the back foot). My concern is whether they can without the right additional signings.

Was good to hear Ruud Gullit say what we've said about playing Loftus-Cheek centrally where he's most effective and then there was the problems of a formation you don't have the players for.

Perfectly weighted pass from Cheek for Punch to run onto. Cabaye can do that as well. Luka is fantastic when there's some shape, discipline, understanding and cohesion. When those break down he's shown his vulnerabilities, plus if he's one of two hrs uncomfortable or unable to do his trademark stuff.

3-4-3,is not for us. 3-5-2 or 3-5-1-1 could be. I loved playing 3-5-1-1 years ago. Teams couldn't deal with you on your good day. On your bad day they couldn't break you down so it could stabilise us.

3-5-2 would make sense right now but if we could get a 10 (or Wilf steps in) 3-5-1-1 could be very entertaining.
