Jokes, so much tonne positive and on the day we make another great signing people are posting we are under prepared. And when Liverpool United or any other top team make a signing next week, does that make them under prepared. Would you rather we spent our money last week on Chambers or waited to push a free loan for Fosu through meaning we still have funds left. Meaning we can still do more buisness becuase we haven't spunked our load early. Team looks more prepared than Pardew ever got them during a preseason. Yesterday OP was bumping the Parish out thread telling him to spend money. Today we sign another great loan player and he's writing thrreads we're not prepared. Make your mind up. Funny how i never see any of the other moaners saying the club has done well securing LoftusCheek, JR or Fosu maybe that's becuase they don't rate them. Or maybe it's only becuase they ever crawl out to moan about things. Never a positive comment by some. Since big Sam threw the towel in I think Palace have excelled in getting done what they got done. Yes there's a bit to go yet but Parish and Frank are making shrewed deals so far all of which look fantastic. What really is the issue..? We only lost one preseason game. We look solid. We've signed great players and are linked with others. And yet people still MOAN. Couldn't make it up... Your the biggest contradiction on this forum. One minute your planning a whole defence in some on your post and told fellow holers to stop pissing their knickers about change, then you say give youth a chance, yes we done some good business but it's not enough. Last season we didn't have enough depth and it was evident with the soaure situation and the fact that we didn't replace jedinak efficiently. You can't say we in an ideal situation, it's not that it thrown on you that the season starts on the 12th. Planning begins earlier than that. The manager situation took far too long and has put us 2 to 3 weeks behind our rivals. Watch the meltdown on here if Huddersfield turn us over.

If my thinking is correct, when FDB was appointed there was talk in the media of Veltman and Tete from Ajax, Rami of Seville, even Van Persie etc etc which set a certain expectation regards our possible acquisitions.FDB was going to attract some established players ! Thus far we have signed a squad player from Ajax and another squad player from Chelsea on 'Loan' (No criticism of them from me) but some supporters expected better. Add into the mix Puncheon being appointed captain on the back of unimpressive performances and no backup for Benteke and all-in-all certain fans feel that we are not best placed going into the season hence a degree of negativity. For avoidance of doubt, all I am doing is trying to offer an explanation that's all.

Im not a contradiction... I freely chat about possible players we might sign, whilst also saying I'm pleased with the players we have and how well they've been playing in matches I've watched. Why can't I say players are playing well and still discuss transfers ?? Why is that a contradiction. It actually just highlights that if we bring better players in, those that drop down will be able to cope when called upon and we end up with a better squad. Not sure why you think that's a contradiction... Lots of transfers by lots of clubs will still be done. We're by the only ones. It's fantastic the club has done the deals it has for hardly any expenditure. It means we can target other players. So what if there not here yet? The team has embraced the managers ideas, hence why we've looked decent in preseason. IF we bring other players in great. But I'm not worried for the season. No way Best team we've had in over a decade.... Why would I moan at THAT!

Spurs are a much bigger club than us, they have bought nobody. Sold Walker for £50m, had Trippier as back up, now he is injured. They only have Kane as a striker that can score, if he gets injured they are in trouble, plus they are in Champions League as well. Most of us accept the progress we are making, as it has never been seen before in the last 50 years. You have to accept there is planning going on behind the scenes for new players, but the market and demands of players better than we have is crazy.

Wilo i rate our signings as really great signings. Chelsea will likely kick themselves they loaned LoftusCheek he could easily make there bench and start many games. JR looks like transfer coup of the season for £8m And I've seen lots of Fosu to know he's a great signing for free. We've bided our time our sought out some great great cheap/free deals. That can only be a good thing. Come second September our squad will be much deeper than last season. In ways it already is. I truely find it bizzarr that people are panicking. played really good football IMO against Schalke 04, who by there pedigree should have played us off the park and had to resort to WWF tactics. Palace I predict will have a great season and won't be anywhere near relagation. Nice to see so many other 'fans' being supportive.

If I cared what Spurs did I would support them, so that point is irrelevant. We have to be realistic we have 14 to 16 solid prem players and little else. Imagine we had a major injury to Townsend, who would play and Benteke the same. I like the signings we bought in but with the new system. I don't think we done enough in my opinion.

We've not got a bottomless pit of money. No money tree.... The manager is making the finances work to strengthen the whole team. Hence why it's taking time, to juggle the deals based on the funds available. Does that make us ill prepared or preparing to build a better squad takes a little longer. Three great signings. Should be celebrated. More to come I expect. Would have been less had we spent £20m on chambers last week. The club are playing a blinder and yes the first game might not feature all the players who will play for us this season but surely it's best this way round. Club is playing a blinder in its deals. IMO

I was just trying to get into the 'Minds' of those who are seemingly underwhelmed and offer an explanation as to why they possibly think this way.

IMO This is what I mean by contradiction Link 1 - [Link] Link2- [Link] So what's changed then, I'm not denying we done good business but feel we 3 or 4 areas short. Any injury to a winger, we relying on Lokilo to play 30 games, also Benteke and wingback issues hasn't been addressed imo add to that a goalie. Edited by CPFC/SCCC (09 Aug 2017 7.20pm)

So I gather you like the Holloway method of buying as many as you can and hope they work. We are passed that stage thankfully and de Boer has assessed the squad and bringing in players that are young, hungry and with something to prove.
