Certainly not his strong suit. I totally disagree. His goal vs WBA last season epitomised his work ethic and consistent willingness to get back and challenge, more often than not to good affect. If he's happy doing it and we're not planning on getting someone in for the role, try him there. Joel ward then plays in the 3 and Luka can step back up to DM.

why would Townsend want to stay and play WB he won't have a hope of getting back in the England squad. A creative and technical player played out of position, even that grotty hole stoke will appeal.

Surely we need to retain our best players and add to the squad.

Townsend has to play as a winger, not a wing back. He was caught out time and time again against Schhalke. Things improved when Ward came on, but we need to buy an experienced wing back.
Let's keep the ball this season! |

I can see Palace selling Townsend for the right price- £20 plus. He right footed but likes to play wide left, I can not see him as a wing back. too much like hard work. We already have three left sided players who could play as wing backs . Palace need the money to to fund the purchase of Sakho. It was only the tail end of last season he put started to put any effort in and play well.
