'we are not going to dilute our high animal welfare standards or our high environmental standards in pursuit of any trade deal'. So says Mr Gove today. Why would anyone willingly eat a dead animal chlorinated stuffed with antibiotics and hormones? I am not a veggie but well on the way. Doctor Fox physician heal thyself.

Chlorine is an antiseptic and is used to make drinking water safe and to treat swimming pools.

I ain't a perfect world. It's a trade off of benefits v risk. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (25 Jul 2017 4.04pm) So its an acceptable compromise if its the US, but if its the EU, its being dictated to. I don't doubt its no less safe, but that's not really the issue here is it. Its that its ok for the US to dictate UK legislation and Standards, but not if its the EU.
