Whatever the system the key for me is organisation and planning. As Pulis and Allardyce showed, if players know what their job is then that gives you a strong footing. Someone like FdB was never going to join Palace and be happy with a low possession game and Parish has said himself he wants the club to progress to a different style. Clearly we still need a few more signings to make that happen, but the two lads that have come in are both from clubs that have played 3-4-3.

No Palace do not have the defenders who can control the ball and either pass it easily to an area on least contention or run forward with the ball and play defence splitting passes often enough. FeB is worriedabout his and has asked Milyovich to drop into defence, as he could do the job required. That is receive the simple pass from another defender and distribute it. Alternatively, run forward with the ball catching all those advanced opposing forwards out of position. We have good enough players Tomkins and Dann are solid pros who score goals from set plays. Ward Schlupp and PVA are good going forward as well. Once FBD has bedded in the system we will be fine.

I suspect it a huge reason why Pulis left, him wanting money to spend on players playing a type of football even back then Parish likely wanted to move away from.

Think it's pretty clear Palace are trying to sign at least one more defender to go along with JR already signed. Hopefully by the start of the season the defence will be a lot stronger. Plus let's not forget FdB is meant to be fairly good at coaching back lines.

While many thought we'd play 4-3-3. It seems as de Boer set on the idea of this 3-4-3. Team 1 The Back ups Others:- Speroni, Williams, wickham, Soaure, Chungy, `Kai Kai , mcarthur

No way. He is one of our best and most consistent players. Cabaye when fit will push for a place also.
