Has anyone had the thought that he hasn't played for Liverpool for a year despite probably being their best central defender. If he fell out with FDB or started causing problems then it would be a nightmare senario.

Or if we spunked all our money on one signing and then he gets injured... I feel we'll forever be indebted but I can't see us signing him this window. Who knows what might happen in the future. I can see him back at Palace in a few years time may be? May be on a free when his next deal runs out. We'd certainly go nuts for him

What's wrong with that? It sounds an excellent idea to me as we aren't in a Moroccan marketplace Whats's wrong with it is that a realistic deal that all parties want might not get done. We aren't in a Moroccan marketplace but we aren't in Tesco either.

Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Liverpool's valuation of him doesn't match ours and we don't have the budget to match that valuation. We spent quite a lot in January so will need to have a more shrewd summer for signings.

We haven't though. Palace fans seem to think he's indebted to the club. Yes he was a superb player. The best I seen in the 20 years , I've been watching but no one bigger than the club. Also in that short period of time, we didn't see his weak spots. I'd love Sakho back but it's time to move on and stop worrying about Sakho all summer. I think the Palace mindset id to like a good worry!!!!

Reports on twitter from reliable accounts from Liverpool, saying palace have agreed personal terms with Sakho and Liverpool are waiting for us to put in a formal bid? Says they still want 30 million, so to me it's odd to agree personal terms before a transfer fee?

That, if true - and I do tend to think that "twitter" is some sort of euphemism for "bulls**t" - does suggest that there must be some sort of common ground between our valuation of the player and the bin dippers'. Normally I would have thought that £30m for a centre-back was out of order but a) this player has already had an exceptional impact on our team and b) if £30m for Sakho is unreasonable what the dickens is £50m for van Dijk?
