Sadly Nick, all the arithmetic indicates that the Tory Queen's Speech will pass.

It would take a massive outbreak of blue-rosette-wearing Christmas-loving Turkeys to upset the maths and, much as I'd love to be proved wrong, I can't see that happening.

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)

Be interesting to see if any groups of tory mp's make 'demands' in order to vote with the government. Who knows what deals are going on. I'd imagine that a few Tory MP's are harrumped at the MayDup thing.

A few more twists and turns wouldn't surprise me in the least.

It's a sad indictment of the hol that there are over 100 pages on the Corbyn thread with the same people saying the same unsubstantiated Corbyn's a commie, he'll bankrupt us guff, yet the current PM is, quite frankly, a bit s*** at her job yet faces barely any ire.

Have to admire your determination, Nick...you never give up do you? Totally disagree with everything you say but you certainly have belief and stamina.

No one has been praising her on this thread have they?

I genuinely think she's out of her depth.

'yet faces barely any ire'???

Isn't this a wildly self unaware statement?

Ok....It's hypocritical to criticise others for behaviour that you yourself can be accused of.

You complain about people's balance in attacking Corbyn but not attacking May......Yet you do precisely the same but from the left perspective. As in, I've yet to see you attack Corbyn yet you attack May and the Tories constantly.

I know I've attacked May....She a 'wet'...a remainer...a poor speaker....lacks confidence and vision....and is responsible for a terrible election campaign.

What have you attacked Corbyn for?

And yet she has a near sixty seat lead after one of the worst campaigns imaginable.

The commons isn't a league table. She has a minority of the house and only can form a government by making grubby deals with a bunch of stone age crackpots.

I'm surprised Ruth Davidson isn't standing up for Scotland and demanding similar bungs for Scotland for the support of her MPs.

In 2010 'Labour' tried to do a deal with the DUP. Gordon Brown wrote a letter to the DUP leader trying to buy his support. The then Northern Ireland Secretary Shawn Woodward worked on an "economic package" to secure DUP support.

Alastair Campbell said a deal between the Conservatives and the DUP could undermine the peace process.
The same Campbell sat in a meeting in 2010 where a Labour-DUP deal was proposed. Bloody hypocrisy.

It shows that the Conservatives have 56 seats more than Labour.

With all the triumphalism one would think it was the other way around.

It does sound like your the one quoting Conservative Stock statements here. The Conservative at best achieved a phyric victory. Going from majority, with an expected majority, to a minority government - in an election she called, expecting the Conservative majority to be dominating, delivering a massive mandate on the EU Exit.

I'm not sure that it was just 'the conservatives' being s**t. They increased their seats, took seats in Scotland from the SNP etc.

Because only myopic people focus on the numbers. Its all about the performance and trends, against expectations.

Sure the Conservatives have 56 more seats than Labour - But they still can only form a government by effectively offering a bung to the DUP and even then only for support on stated issues.

She f**ked it up, the party f**ked it up. They underestimated how well Corbyn would appeal, and how poorly May comes across.

What's stunning about the DUP deal is how they come out of it looking like 'the good guys'.

Lucky there's none of that in the Conservative party. Politics without hypocrisy. An alliance with a Scotish National Party would be unthinkable, but its fine with a Northern Irish one....

Accusing politicians of hypocrisy is a bit like saying fish swim...
