I'd take a season where we are completely safe throughout. Don't care if we end up finishing 17.

I would hope for improved home form, perhaps 10+ wins and a few draws. Away form also good and for them to win if I go! Nearer 50 than 40 points would be great.
Any sort of a cup run would also be great.

If you think I got that from WIKI its complete Hogwash.
A Referee told me that at a Conservative Party meeting.

Sorry , I forgot about all your contacts.
I've heard rumours that we might need some more players to improve next season.
Can you confirm with some inside info ?

Top ten is where we need to be looking.

Just staying up comfortably would be nice. Each year you look for 3 teams we can finish above and it gets harder each year to find them. Hopefully Brighton and Reading/Huddersfield will struggle, and Watford and Burnley both had poor run-ins, but so did we, losing 4 of our last 5 without scoring.

So we lost to Man City and Spurs, which most clubs do, and Man U (when we were officially on the beach) and Burnley (when we prematurely thought we were on the beach).

I would be disappointed if we didn't finish above all those teams next year.

Play entertaining football. Not hoof ball. That's all really.

No expectations, no disappointments

If Sakho stays we have a top half chance and a cup run chance.

If Sam buys with the intelligence he has so far with Luka, PVA and Schlupp then any sales can be compensated for.

If Sam stays, I am confident we can do well and stay up

Surely Seaweed will provide us with sufficient entertainment? Or at least plenty of laughs.

If their only signing and the rumours of players they're linked with are anything to go by, they appear to be trawling the Bundesliga for players in their mid-20s for under £3m. Perhaps they're using a filter on CM? Let's hope it all works out well for them

Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing!

I think someone else said it - you can't really look at a guaranteed 3 teams to finish below you anymore, so the only way out of that is to be an established mid-table team like Stoke.

I think the past 10 years or so, you can generally not make any investment if you lack ambition but say with some confidence this team will finish 20th, this team 19th etc.

Not the case anymore. I'd hope the play-off winners and Brighton struggle but there's no reason they both can't have a silly first season and finish 10th-12th. That straight away puts pressure on the likes of your Burnley's/Bournemouth's/Watford's etc.

For Palace to not fall into that trap we need the investment to be a team comfortably better than those 'lower ambition teams'.

You'd think if we signed Sakho, Jenkinson, Defoe and an attacking midfielder whilst offering the likes of Zaha £110k a week that establishes you in the top half.

IMO you either risk being in a relegation battle or you finish comfortably top half these days, there doesn't seem to be room to 'easily' finish 12th-16th. Too few points in it and you can accidentally end up relegated on the last day.

I don't think he's scored a PL goal since 4 February (has he?), and that was against us and we were sh1t. He's 35 this year. We rarely, if ever, start with two strikers and he's not going to displace Benteke or Wickham in the loan-striker role. If we're looking for someone to pressure Puncheon for a place, I think we can do better than putting £11m in Defoe's skyrocket for his last hurrah before he disappears back to the MSL.
