IF we are relegated, there might be those who might advance the argument that we weren't in the relegation zone when he took over (We were 17th) but we have gone down whilst he is in charge. It's amazing how much s*** is spouted about football, isn't it? If those people can show us how you can un-Pardew a thoroughly Pardewed squad in a week they can no doubt apply for the job.

Whilst statistically correct as Cucking pointed out, we all know the rot had started early. I wondered what the hell was going on with Pardew's blaise attitude at the beginning on the season about players coming back from the Euro's. Fully fit players at the beginning of the season and more than 1 point from the first 3 games are as damaging as losing to Burnley.

Think it's a little unfair to describe it as minimal just because we've only moved up one place. Beating Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool is a massive accomplishment that may yet keep us up, and it was helped by astute signings and good man management (not to mention improved fitness and tactics). Besides, the league is so tight right now that had we won just one more game we'd be in the running for 12th. Yes, I know we didn't win that hypothetical game but hopefully, you get my point.

Seems a bit harsh? The one factor in his favour is the signing of Sakho (and how much of that was down to Parish) Unless I have made an error, in the games Sakho has played the team has had 5 wins, 2 losses (one of which he left when drawing) and 1 draw. Without him in the team, under Allardyce the team is 2-8-1 for an average of 0.64 points per game (worse than Sunderland) The much maligned (and fairly so) Pardew was 4-10-3 for 0.88ppg Even if we do stumble over the line we need a fresh start. Let him take his chunk of change for keeping us up and move on You dopey c***.

Tbh I am(still) not a BS fan but he has sorted the defence mainly via Sakhou and of course replacing jedi with Luka and getting the players fit. Having said that he also tends to blame players for defeats and talks about weaknesses spotted for wins. But we now have a spine in the team and the football IS MUCH better than I thought it would be. Keep him.
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

But whatever our individual opinions are we must all agree he has kept us in with a chance and deserves the right if we manage to stay up to take us forward. Will be interesting to see if he chooses to do so. You might argue that the previous manager might have changed things around with his buys in the January window. No one will ever know.

Mind you, I was one of those who thought the SA hire was bang on from before it happened. Just what we needed given what had gone before. Also someone with a point to prove and the experience to do just that. All that old baloney about not getting attacking play just sounds like a re-run of the Pulis comments. Wrong then and wrong now.
