Students who whoop, cheer and clap should face “consequences” because they are excluding deaf people, delegates at the National Union of Students conference said.

"Consequences"

From the trigglypuffs that last year bought us "jazz hands instead of clapping", because it was "anxiety triggering".

Ashamed to have been a member (only for the discount, anyway)

I'm more offended by the term "grandfather clock". Absolutely outrageous! It ought to be "older person's clock"!

It's lovely that you reference me so often. I look forward to receiving a valentines mug next year.

I hope they will feel embarrassed about this at some point in their later adult lives.

Apologies it's the mail.

As an aside to this story when I was at secondary school I belonged to the debating club. We took part in a competition organised by the rotary club. Topic to speak on for 5 minutes was the culture of victim compensation. Was a relatively new concept here in the UK with the majority of our examples at that time being the more ludicrous cases from America. We were definitely ahead of our time as this nonsense has certainly caught on here
