Seriously why do we or any other club need a proud and palace group anyway. Can't people get on with being gay, felching , rug munching etc without having a committee meeting and going on and on about it. Get a ticket , go to football , watch the game and f*** off home for Christ same You sound just like me, i could not of put that better myself.

I get that ‘Political Correctness’ can be used to treat adults like children, as if none of us know the difference between a joke and an insult. Most of the jokes I’ve made or laughed at in my life have been very much non-PC, and it is essential that we are able to laugh at ourselves and each other. You either dismiss their request on the basis that you sincerely and genuinely know it to be joke, or you make the connection between what you have said and what they feel. And that’s the point. It’s not about how you feel about what you’ve said, it’s about how they feel. That’s not ‘Political Correctness’, that’s just not being an ar$ehole. So, if you are making the Brighton FC / Gay connection as a joke, and you know very well that it is a joke, I can understand why you don’t want to be called homophobic, or a bigot, or get arrested and banned from football, or whatever. Please consider though, that while you may well be none of those things, you are being an ar$ehole, because you know very well that all around you are people who find it offensive, or insulting, or feel that it isolates them, or even just find it cringe worthy and embarrassing. But you’re doing it anyway.

This statement is agenda-driven, aggressive, threatening and bullying activist PC propaganda BS and I for one will not bow to it. Fans say all sorts of sh1t about all sorts of diverse groups but at heart they are generally accepting and non-phobic about anyone, and you can shove your demands for conformity to your 'correct' language right up your ARSE. Let's all hope that you're not leading the HF choir then, at the end of the day it's the HF that I hope will listen to this plea. It's not much to ask for. Don't sing anti gay songs but positive Palace ones. Parrot

Ok we could just start a list of other things to bait them about? I'll start: Lewis Dunk permanently has the face of someone who has been accused of rape Falmer is a sod to get to They've got 1 song This is their first time in the Premier League Glenn Murray has had one of the worst hair transplants in football history Seagulls eat out of bins Their kit looks like pyjamas Most their fans support two teams Fatboy Slim has made a "Put Your Hands Up For Brighton" remix which has to be the most cringey thing I have ever heard Plastic clappers We were the first to beat them at the Amex We beat them in the Playoff Semis on our way to the Prem

nearly every away team that has visited the amex this season has sung songs about the brighton gay thing with not a lot of press coverage ,when palace play them and if there is any homophobic chanting it will become a national media issue which will be blown out of all proportion ,and bring the club in to disrepute ,i know a gay couple who are season ticket holders at the amex who are both from liverpool one is a toffee and the other is a red and they find most of it amusing ,i my self think its a bit 1980s we could do with out it They deserve to be humiliated......for supporting other clubs, before Brighton. Losers.

It is literally just to wind THEM up! Not aimed at the wider community. I've been around since the beginning of the rivalry and it is one game in a blue moon. I refuse to believe that this is real homophobia when you can't hear any anti-gay slurs elsewhere when Palace play.
I bet you anything you could have a rainbow flag with an eagle on it saying 'Glad to be Gay' in the Palace end and receive zero, or practically zero, abuse from Palace fans. They would laugh more than anything I am sure. No, it's not been around since we first started hating the seaweeds. Back in the day the rivalry became fiercely aggressive and was based on a couple of very nasty punch-ups. No hint of gay there, believe me. The gay thing is more recent, as Brighton became better known as a magnet for LGBT lifestyle. You don't need to call Weeds gays as a wind-up. The hatred has nothing to do with people being or not being gay. As I said on another thread, simple playground bullying and nastiness.

They are having an open top bus parade through Brighton aren't they next month. A bit ott isn't it. Obviously their own fans will genuinely be thrilled they have been promoted but its still over the top

...this again. Also for Proud & Palace (or whatever they call themselves) to berate everyone on social media is the thing I find extremely patronising as well. I don't like the idea of being preached to with a almost 'political' type manifesto. You are trying to excuse the bad behavior by defining, perfectly, the bad behavior. A majority insulting a minority (or using a minority as an insult) is the problem.
We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football. |

Sorry , not sure what you're trying to say. Could you spell it out more clearly Refering to the OP link: [Link] I am 61 years old on the 26th April. My parents and my Mrs' parents and most of the older folk when I was a kid exhibited various degrees of intolerance towards certain groups. But let me tell you something about today's people, older guys like me, my children (19, 22, 27) and everybody else not in their 90s in an old folk's home: THEY ARE NOT HOMOPHOBIC, RACIST OR UNACCEPTING OF ANYONE! It is BS! My boys and their friends can be seen dating girls from all colours of all ethnic backgrounds, they have mates that are gay, and they are the most tolerant people anywhere, and this ACTIVIST BS is starting to really p1ss me off! Here in Oz we have Footy clubs launching programs such as 'Give Racism The Boot' etc...all good stuff, and I see the same sh1t with PL teams. But it's BS. Except for the fractional percentage of nuts, today's people are generally accepting of others. This speech is designed to project guilt and shame on ordinary nive folk who would never hurt others and I am fed up with it. I've had enough. It's a LIE.

It's not original which is why I might leave it, just like that 'Who are ya' bollox chant after we came from 2-0 down to 2-2 v Leicester. Some things are tempting if it annoys someone though. I certainly won't be starting it or waiting for it to start. Also those Spurs fans were in the national media for homophobic chanting. No thanks to that.
