Even the Stoke game went our way. Stoke's next game is against Hull, the one after is against Swansea. If they don't win at least one of those then they will be dragged into the relegation fight. Not only that but Bornemouth are on their way to getting tanked by Chelsea. However if Swansea continue to play as badly as they did today all will be well. Edited by chateauferret (08 Apr 2017 5.53pm) Looking at Bournemouth's last 5 fixtures I would think that it is extremely unlikely they will get dragged into it. The worse thing that can happen for us is for teams like Stoke and Bournemouth to go to the likes of Swansea and Hull, and to a lesser degree Middlesboro and Sunderland not needing anything. Bournemouth have Tottenham next and then Middlesboro and Sunderland and we need them to need to take something from those games. The last thing we need is a last ditch resurgence from the North East.

Sunderland and m'boro looked doomed. One place left in the bottom 3. We need to take advantage of our games in hand. It's for us to bugger this up. We got the quality and the mentality to do it. In big Sam we trust. Swansea last 6: Hull last 6:

Yes, it's the fixtures of clubs beneath us against clubs that have nothing to play for that worries me!
If only it were White, rather than Yellow! |

With the latest results (Burnley's 3 points, Southampton's win and and Bournemouth's draw at Liverpool) it is very likely that 1 of those 3 will go down (hopefully not Palace.) Realistically, we can expect from the schedule: Swansea: Away: Total: 35-38 points Hull: Away: Total: 37-38 points (without the Palace match) Crystal Palace: Away: Total: 35-37 points (without the Hull match)
It will be hard. Could we hope that Swansea doesn't win any of its games at home and they total less points? Perhaps

We have the points on the board, games in hand, and Swansea and Hull would swap positions with us in a heartbeat. If the new players keep playing we stay up. If they get injured/suspended we go down unless Swansea don't win another game(possible).

A Wet Spam side with no Caroll and in freefall turned them over with hardly any pressure on their own goal, and kept Llorente and Gylfi basically out of it. Apart from their trip to the Stadium of Sh!te the other teams they've to play are all better than that Wet Spam showing. And they need to do more than just beat Sunderland to overtake us (which isn't to say that Hull might not finish below them, but that doesn't look likely to me either).

That Spurs match at home before by 1-0 up going into injury time and losing 1-3 must've hurt. Llorente came on as sub at half time. Hopefully we could poach Sigurdsson.

I like the positivity but check out our injuries. Especially at the back. It is the crocked that has stuffed us for 16 months.. The number one issue to improve on if we scrape survival. I can see us only having a bare minimum full starting team for the last few games... And look who we're playing. Squeaky bums.
