As posted elsewhere earlier I never expected us to get more than 37 points and that is still what I think. Edited by The Dolphin (06 Apr 2017 8.47am) Edited by The Dolphin (06 Apr 2017 8.48am) Edited by The Dolphin (06 Apr 2017 8.48am)

After Sunderland we looked like we would finish rock bottom. At least we've given ourselves a fighting chance but survival is still a huge task. I think we still need 4 points from the next 4. Agree. My view was, before the Chelsea game, if we were still out of the bottom 3 after Arsenal that would be OK, and given the difficulty of the fixtures and those of the teams around us that it would actually be more than OK. We now definitely will be out of the relegation zone after playing Arsenal, even if only on goal difference. Our games after Arsenal for the rest of April are all games we can get points from, even Spurs at home as they might go all Spursy (they must at some point surely?). We've also only got 1 more away game this month, which is positive in spite of our Home form since Pardew.

If only we could grab wins against Burnley and Hull and 'park the bus' at other matches then that should keep us safe. The disappointing feature to last night's game at Southampton was having taken the lead and then conceding and at least not managing a draw and a valuable away point. This post sums up my disappointment; the inability to grind out a draw against a depleted, out of form Southampton. Bournemouth seemed to manage it a few days earlier and then followed it up with the same at Anfield. But then we don't really 'do' draws do we? Imagine how the table would look now had we ground out 4 boring draws against Swansea and West Ham this season. Or even just a couple. Must stress though that I'm trying to remain positive as I believe at least a draw against Leicester is on the cards and that we are more than capable of beating Burnley and Hull at home.

My worries are shared by many of our supporters so I am hardly alone. There are a lot of fretters in our midst. We have had our good run and with the games to come against the top teams I've been talking to lots of people from the World Of Football and they say your really Trolley.

Palace are in a better position than Swansea and the Irons ... If you spoke to there fans they would rip your arm off to be in our position ... it will go down to the wire yes, but thats what the premiership is all about ... at least we have an exciting end of season. if I was an iron or a taff I would be seriously sweating my 'cobs off now Come on you Palace ... we will be safe

As posted elsewhere earlier I never expected us to get more than 37 points and that is still what I think. Definitely, the Hull game is a must not lose. Win those two, and nick a draw from the remaining games and we stay up. Ideally the target is to try to pick up six points elsewhere, so that we don't have TO WIN those games (now we have the three from Chelsea, two wins from our remaining games gives us a real chance, provided we can pick up a draw).

Hull have 2 nailed on home wins with Watford and Sunderland as do Swansea with Stoke and Sunderland. We will need 40 points which will be very difficult paticularly with our injuries building up again Hull v watford is not nailed on, but likely. Swansea v Stoke is certainly not nailed on.

I'm scared to be honest. After four wins, we still look in trouble, and that is disheartening, We need to pull off upsets. We need to beat teams like arsenal. Because we can't count on beating teams like burnley or hull. I'm not saying we are down, we have a good team and have had a good run recently. But the sharks are circling.. I believe we can beat Arsenal if we give them hell. But we must give them hell and not anything less.

We were completely spent from the Chelsea game. Anyone there tonight could see that. That doesn't mean that this has become any more or less serious. We just didn't turn up today because we left too much on the pitch at Stamford bridge on Saturday. I expect us to turn up to Selhurst on Monday, rested and recharged and with something to prove after that defeat. This absolutely. ....
