Was surprised they got them in was at least 4 bangs and a lit flare at the end those that get caught risk a banning order really not worth it.

Sorry but when I first saw the flares I came in my pants. Love it and I'm not ashamed. Whenever I read about Palace fans generalizing about other clubs fans I often remind them that every club has it's idiotic supporters so thanks for proving me right

Flares are fantastic in my opinion. I've watched matches is Germany, Poland, Austria, Netherlands and Czech Republic and flares are the norm in all of those countries and guess what, they atmosphere is also considerably better too. Don't get why it is such a taboo in England, it doesn't cause issues in other places. The mentality/mindset of an English fan is generally to moan for 90 mins and expect to be entertained and will sing after a goal. The typical European fan is there to support their team, not to be entertained. The HF are the only group of fans in England that I'm aware of who buck this trend and in that respect makes Palace unique. As others have said, my biggest concern about taking a young kid to Palace would be the language of other fans

Everything is so sanitised these days, a few bangs going off during a goal celebration is hardly a big deal In the grand scheme of things. The Chelsea fans on 606 last night were acting like they'd survived The Blitz. I'd rather have a support that gets a bit boisterous now and then than the likes of Chelsea or Arsenals

People who say flares are alien to the English game obviously never encountered scruffy northerners in the early eighties. Tank tops too.

Even though a beer ban at half time would have really annoyed me I think it was the right thing to do. Agreed. My wife and her mates want to have a chainsaw party and she said "bring wine". Well wine and chainsaws don't mix either! Utterly irresponsible!!! Everyone knows it's rum and chainsaws! Also, I think that the reason kids shouldn't be attending away matches is because they'll bring more flares.
So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet. |

Anyone hear 606 last night? Chelsea fans acting like they had ptsd from a few bangers.

As long as its only one or two a game and in the stands not on the pitch I don't see the problem .(Like when we score ) Its not as if is unique to Palace ,a quick visit to u-tube will show most teams letting off flares at some point , including Chelsea .
