I can't think of another manager leaving such a disaster behind him, however you got to give him some credit for keeping us up after warnock and sneaking 10th place the following season. At one stage Palace were 5th in Nov/Dec 2015. Then it come crashing down to earth in 2016. With an absolutely horrendous year of results 6 wins. The cup final which should of been his last game as manager but he seemed to convince parish and the board to offer him a long contract. Then we started this season and his arrogance got to a new level saying that clean sheets weren't important. I'm glad he's gone but to say he was a useless manager is not right. Maybe he rode the wave of pulis defensive structure to get the important results in 2015. Not many Palace managers have a 40% win ratio in the prem. I've met blokes like AP before. They are complete egotists and self-deluded about their own brilliance. Big Sam has said and done nothing but common sense since he got here, but genius Pardew, even in this interview he is completely vacuous, arrogant and self-absorbed. It was always going to happen 'tomorrow' or 'soon' with him. But he did the same with us as he did with NUFC. I am so happy that he is gone and that we were blessed enough for Sam to lose his England job and be with us. He talks absolute sense, makes wise transfers and subs, doesn't get carried away with himself, and he's humble, which really suits our PL status. Luka's signing is IMO a HUGE influence on our current form as he does what Jedi did - only better - allowing other mids and wingers the freedom to play THEIR games. AP never mentioned that need while here or in his latest interview. It was HIS decision to kick out Jedi (oh he's so loyal ain't he?), and it was his inability to see the negative effect of that dumb decision. Sam saw it. Sam saw the need to fix the broken confidence in defence too. How Sam did it in so short a time is a marvel. AP, Good riddance.

I accept we needed a 'Jedi' but in my humble estimation he wasn't the answer so I can understand why we accepted £4 mill for him. All about opinions!

Not really fair. Hasn't had too much of a chance. Great player.

Pardew has and always will be,in denial as to his considerable errors of judgment and blame worthiness. A true legend in his own mind.

I agree, but he needed to be replaced, not just his skill-set, but his steadying and leadership role in the dressing room and on the pitch. Pardew never appeared to acknowledge this.

I still don't understand why we accepted £4 million for Jedi, really £4 million is nothing in today's football market, especially given we had no other DM at the time and for 7 months after until Milivojevic came. Jedi was on comparatively minuscule wages to most at the club, the cost to replace him has been far too high, the club should have realised that, when you have good reliable 30+ player like Jedinak or Murray just keep hold of them. You end up having to spend 3x what you get for them, risking it on a younger player who might not be as good. Trim the squad of players like Ledley, Mutch, Lee, not your stalwarts. Jedi was actually playing his best football since 2014 when we sold him, that was my greatest disappointment because I could see the prick that sold him wasn't going to last the season anyway.
