Duncan shearer scored goals for fun for Blackburn. Soon as they got promoted to prem they could see he wasn't good enough. Just like Jordan Rhodes... Sometimes there's one major thing from they're game that simply doesn't suit the prem. It happens. And good managers can spot it.

Normally its time on the ball. They can play like Zidane when they have that extra few seconds. But when Danny rose is kicking at their heels they simply ain't the same player.

Nice that you brought up Danny Rose. His manager (Pochettino) didn't think he was good enough, so he brought in Ben Davies to be first choice. How that turned out....Managers don't know everything....

Keeping our major players and getting Defoe, Trippier and Sakho permanently (if not Kone) with a loan of Tammy Abraham.

We need a second striker or number 10 just to give us a different approach if we need it. Wickham is too similar to Benteke for them to consistently be picked together and have any real effect.

We need another box to box type in midfield; McArthur's powers are fading imo and there is no one else to compete or relace a player of his mold.

And a Centre back; Sakho preferably based on his displays so far. They need to be leader material as Dann isn't a natural leader at the back.

Not sure how you came to that conclusion? He's been injured and has Mili/Caba ahead of him...but he hasn't show a loss in form? Just not the first choice at the minute. Very very handy player still.

We might need a new Wilf Zaha :-(

We definitely need a number 10

We definitely need Sakho or a proper, quality, equivalent.

We definitely need to upgrade Joel Ward.

Keep Wilf and that's only 3 signings!

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)

Anderlecht's right back Appiah.
Siggurdson
Begovic*

Keep Wilf and buy Kone if we can't afford Sakho, which I'd prefer.

*if there were any chance of getting Mandanda interested that would be a great way to get a 'cheap' upgrade in goal...though I know many don't rate the guy. I think he has a couple more years as a top keeper.

So...

Mandanda

Appiah Sakho Dann PvA

Luka

Siggurdson MacArthur

Wilf Townsend
Benteke

Would be my team.

I have been hugely impressed with Cabaye recently but I think in a team with a genuine attacking midfielder we'd need MacArthur's extra energy and bite. So I'd reluctantly flog the Frenchy as he's getting on a bit and we could still get good dough for him (which we'd need).

This is predicated on staying up, which I fully expect.

Then get rid of deadwood to cut what must be a stupid wage bill.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Cherry picking from the potentially relegated sides:

Pickford/Fabianski
Kone or Ben Gibson (if we can't keep Sakho)
Siggurdson
Angel Rangel
Defoe

Appiah from Anderlecht is untested.
What did you like about him?
I've see a better right back at Eintracht Braunshweig

Would absolutely wet myself if we signed Inheanacho quality quality player. Can't imagine City would be willing to sell him. But if they forced a Zaha deal through and offered him as part exchange.

Plus £20-30m.

I'd probably reluctantly agree.
