With respect not "Bizarre logic" at all in my book. Of course one can debate about the performance of the referees and everyone is entitled to their opinion. What I find "Bizarre" is that we have achieved a much needed win yet debate is firmly centred on the referee ! That's all I am saying. I've counted six or seven threads about various aspects of this match, plus the match thread itself of course. Now let's see whose posts have been firmly centred on the referee? (See attachment). Attachment: willo.png (84.80Kb)

Well I think the ref is on the books of bet fair because he single handedly stopped any chance of my winning my £20 bet on a 2-0 Palace win. To be fair I think bet fair could handle the loss but I could have done with those Saturday night drinking tokens. s***e ref, enough said on the subject.

It hasn't been me 'driving' this debate at all.I certainly never instigated it. I'm sure if I had never made any contributions thus far, the debate against the referee would still 'Rage'.

You complained about everyone talking about the referee and nothing else, so I called out that a) we had talked about plenty of things other than the referee and that b) you had not.

First of all I wasn't "Complaining" about the debate centred around the referee - all I was saying is that after a vital and much needed win it was a tad bizarre that the focus centred around the man in the middle. As for "Talked about plenty things other than the referee" this thread was started and added to by many on here and I have certainly played my part by looking at the incidents from a referees perspective. In general, I can appreciate why decisions are given and why they are not given and of course referees will err from time to time.We are all great referees when we see 'Slow-mos' umpteen times from various angles.

Pundits who have seen 'Slow-mo' replays probably loads of times.A referee only sees things once from his angle and often his view is obscured. Trust me, I know and have spoken to many referees about this. Do pundits in general heap praise on some brilliant decisions ? Do they focus on the referee when he makes terrific judgement calls ? Yep they only get one chance in real time, as you like to remind us with Clattenburg. What you are forgetting is that dope of a ref yesterday gave Jimmmy Mac a yellow for diving, therefore he must have been pretty damn sure he had seen what had happened. If he couldn't be sure due to the speed or being un sighted then he wouldn't have given anything. The yellow proved he was very confident in what had happened. I'm not surprised to see you trolling this thread Willo. At times I can't work out if your an eccentric Palace fan or just a slightly more subtle troll. Your comments regarding Clattenburg after some of his totally inept or even biased performances in our games made me think you were a troll so un surprised to see you in the thick of defending the latest clown ref we get. The refs performance yesterday was as bad as I have seen in a game involving us, throughout. It doesn't matter how many in the know people you have spoken to, it was awful and we are very fortunate it didn't cost us in a massive game. All very well saying they have a difficult job. That is a given. We all know that. But after all they choose to do it and one would assume given they are meant to be the best of the best, having got to the pinnacle of their career, we have a right to expect them to see when Zaha is shoved in the chest in the box or Jimmy Mac is fowled in the box.

Edited by Y Ddraig Goch (26 Feb 2017 10.43am) Absolute hogwash and then some. WILLO threads have in the main become tedious, wearisome and have a tendency to deflect attention away from the subject under discussion hence my suggestion. At the end of the day I am pilloried for "Not turn this into a WILLO thread" with all this "Default" piffle and when I do "Return" I am still the subject of brickbats ! Can't win - just like referees !

And from past experience I am NOT surprised that there are those who continue to make such ridiculous allegations. I REPEAT - All I have done on this thread is to look at incidents from the perspective of the referee and NOT from the perspective of those who view incidents umpteen times through 'Slow-mo'. And I REPEAT - Referees are only human and will make mistakes as do managers and players.
