Not quite the same topic, but I wonder whether anyone remembers the operator of the electronic scoreboard at Norwich flashing up the Ipswich score during Norwich's home game. It read Manchester United 1, Scum 0. I think this was about 15 years ago, and I'm pretty sure that Norwich, having apologised profusely, sacked the operator.

Coal miners ,Labourers ,seamstresses, people who graft all day for a pittance and even those who earn a few bob 'put in a shift '

Footballers are playing a game ,they may work hard at it for an hour and a half but trust me , most of them wouldn't know what a shift is let alone put one in

I saw a post yesterday where a Holer said Mutch always put in a shift.

I want to work for his firm.!!!!!!!

what about BSA.
Joking aside its amazing one win and suddenly people are moaning about how we refer to sam allardychi on a forum that hes not remotely interested in.
Cant wait to see what happens if we win on sat to see what topics come up then... like whether cabaye should change his hair colour to red or blue or both ?

Definitely both.

I am enjoying that the things we're moaning and arguing about have gone back from critical to trivial where they used to be. It's rather relaxing.

Completely agree with OP. I can understand why we might make up uncomplimentary names about other team's managers but it's not right to do it about our own, especially given the short time he's been here and the good job he's done so far. It's not funny and it's not clever. I felt the same about this "Colin" rubbish when Warnock was here and I started a similar thread about it at the time.

I'm sorry but this really bugs me. If you're too lazy to type 'Sam Allardyce' or 'Allardyce' then the correct abbreviation for OUR manager is SA.

When you consider Sam has come here to do his best, hasn't said anything against the fans and has just had arguably the best transfer window and is the best chance of us staying up, I'm not sure why some are feeling the need to label him BFS aka Big Fat Sam.

This is an absurd way to treat any member of our team. It's not like we got rid of a fan favourite in Pardew, most people wanted him gone. It's also not like Allardyce has ever been a Brighton fan or slated our club/fans in the past.

Just because some of you lived in fantasy land and wanted Mourinho to step down from United to lead us to a 6th placed finish, now is the time to support the man we got in, the man who has never been relegated. The man who has now got only our second clean sheet of the season.

We should back every one at our club and give everyone a second chance now the window has closed including Townsend etc.

Good luck SA!

Absolutely Spot on!!
