I love supporting Palace and then, every now and then, I make the mistake of logging on here and it leaves me thoroughly depressed.

There is some right re: away fan cosiness and a lot ridiculously incorrect or hypocritical tosh in that digital flyer. 1. Light shows. Same as the TV gantries for more TV views. We have no choice. We have to adhere to their rules. The money has to be spent on them and we wouldn't have the money to spend on them if it wasn't for the Prem. 2. Selhurst referred to as Stadium Bowl. WTF? I mean, what THE F*CK? I've never heard that, ever. Maybe if you're watching via a US or Canadian channel. 3. Since admin our teams have been built on local lads? Clyne, Scannell, Zaha, Punch (who was a Wimbledon youth and only came when we could fulfil his ambition, not that I'm knocking him for it). Apologies if I've missed out any others but you can count those on the fingers of one hand, over 7 seasons. 4. Leaders working as a team. 'LOSING' Jedinak and sidelining others who inspired the support? Erm, it was the manager they couldn't stop singing about who 'LOST' ahem, Jedinak and sidelined others, nobody else. Ask Speroni next time you speak to him. Pulis wanted characters and they disliked him. Pardew doesn't want them and they adore him. 5.'As we move towards a bland generic Premier League identity, we change expectations which lead to negativity.' Just f*** off. If you were old enough to be at Highbury when we went down, or any season from the top tier then you will know how much it hurts, globalisation or not, and how much we want to stay. Do us all a favour. We respect the atmosphere but there are 24,000 fans at home, not 60. And tell the media attention seeking idiot with the 'Corruption not welcome' banner to think about our future and not his messages to the world. Nobody cares. We care about staying up. Just get behind the players and stop trying to kid yourselves the world is listening. (I agree with not making the away fans feel cosy) Spot on.

I'm bound to be in a minority on this, but I - and the people around me - like to have a chat about the previous game, have a moan about xyz player(s), talk about the opposition, etc. But with the bloody racket constantly coming aver the public address system (particularly that fake crowd noise that goes on and on) it's almost impossible to have a conversation. I listened last night to Spurs v Chelsea on the radio, and the commentators were competing before kick-off with a barrage of artificial noise there. So it's not just us. I don't mind turning away from a conversation to watch the Crystals, but how pitiful and amateurish does it look when, on a cold wet night, there are only about eight of them? If you can't do something properly, don't do it at all. Even synchronising the flashing of the lights with the music (an infantile idea anyway) seems to be beyond our capabilities. I think I must end my rant before I damage myself. Never really bothered with the half time entertainment, as like most people I go for a p*ss and try not to come back in until just before kick off.

It's what you were implying though. As for a good business model - of which football is unique and is unlike almost all other businesses, and alienating paying customers, people don't buy an Away football ticket hoping they might get a free t-shirt or hear their clubs' song over the speaker system. Tickets have been made cheaper for Away supporters than the majority of Home supporters. There's also far more chance that any Away fan already lives in London, than a Palace fan living in any of the 'Away' cities - although that is a slightly different point. I do think it vulgar that Palace have footed the bill for Cantona shirts to be printed and handed out for free, in the very stadium where he had his most infamous moment of attacking a 'Home' supporter. Did that actually happen? I'm surprised it never got a mention on here, or elsewhere. Were they actually funded by CPFC2010? By the way, most fans I know who go to away games tend to pick the games based on their experience of previous away days (of which the game is a part).

If all they allege is correct about cantona shirts being given out, music being piped into their areas and so on none of that has anything to do with pardew. The man has gone and I accept people didn't like him but blaming him for everything at the club is crazy. People need to start taking a long hard look at parish and co , yes they saved us from administration I have heard this argument but what is going on at the club in terms of players going , who we sign , lights , music and facilities comes down to him and the investors. Time people woke up and accepted this and took the rose tinted glasses off Whilst I haven't been to every game this season, I haven't actually heard any music being played for the away fans. And if its only audible in the away section, then who gives a s**t. Likewise the Cantona T-Shirts - seems very unlikely to me.

Don't like the lights or the goal scorer being blasted out over the tannoy then repeated by the fans. Have no real issue with the Hf other than wonder what do they want? L1? and only true hardcore 10k to turn up at Selhurst, or do they want all the limelight?

Definitely play the away fans anthems, if you walk around the Arthur before the game you can hear their songs blasting out. Why the club does this I have no isea.

The last 'local lads' we 'built' a team around were Gareth Southgate and Zaha as he was so crucial to going up before he moved on and then there's those a bit further afield in Lewisham like Ian Wright, Ben Watson etc. The only time a team has b en truly 'built' with local lads was the team of the '80s and when DF took over but Clyne was ready to go and Scannell wasn't quite good enough. (The online meltdown when he and Ambrose were sold was monumental)
