What is your solution to the full back problem ? Select Fryers ?? I'm interested in hearing it.

Townsend was not '' amazing '' nor was Cabaye. I've actually seen Townsend play worse than that, but still.....Cabaye has the class to play at the highest level, but I don't think him and Punch in the same team works.

As for the substitutions, we have an important game tomorrow night which looks like a ' six pointer ', with minimum recovery time. I think Sam did the right thing. Arsenal were coasting at that point, but I'm sure that had we nicked a goal back, they had several more gears to go up if they wanted to.

I think you clearly have an issue with BFS - well that's your problem. I don't care who the manager is, I want the club to stay in the PL. Under Pardew that looked increasingly unlikely.

Interesting observation that I hadn't made but was reaching the conclusion that Ledley, MacArthur with Cabaye in front would be our "strongest" line up at the moment.

Someone told me we've not won a game in the three years we've been back in the prem without Puncheon playing at some point (can't be bothered to research whether this is true)

Then I'd suggest punch drops out for a bit. What's he actually do these days.

Thought he held / carried the ball quite well yesterday compared to most in fairness.

I havent seen palace completely outplayed, outfought and outthought this season, until yesterday. We were shambolic. Hate to say it but at least Pardew's teams fought hard and we were always just edged out.

For those who were there yesterday, you can surely admit that should have been 4,5-0 Arsenal, the scoreline flattered us.

Dont let Cabaye go

You haven't seen us much then. Utd at home was embarrassing bar 10 mins. Liverpool the same, Swansea Away was all the above you mentioned. Pards sides only showed up when the opponents took their foot off the gas

I do actually. I can name you over 100 players that would cost less than 10 million and would improve the Crystal Palace side this winter.

But you wouldn't understand anyway....

Go on then name them!?

In all honestly, the only proper solution at full back is the transfer market.

Anything else is just a bandage, and we can't afford that.

We have to sign that.

This manager should be freakin' crucified (well, figuratively, of course)

He's worse than the last one. Didn't chabge a thing, still playing with Kelly and Ward (a right footed player) as wingbacks.

Townsend and Cabaye were amazing against Arsenal up to this minute (well, amazing for Palace's level). They're the ones who have run the most and covered the most ground. They can absolutely press and compete at this level. Cabaye in the center is essential. Benteke wouldn't press if Cabaye wouldn't give him the impulse.

You just can't, absolutely CAN'T, substitute one of those players when the team is pushing for agoal and getting back into the game.

He had to sub them both because of the Swansea game. Any manager eoklxvd done the same. Seems pretty obvious and sensible to me

Er...Chelsea a few weeks ago springs to mind immediately

Pape Souare out (I never liked his playing, even though some teams would pay money for him), I haven't seen Fryers enough, but he should be out too.

Now I'm convinced you are a substance misuser!! Pape Souare cost us less than half of what we paid for Townsend but has made more than double the contribution!! His work rate alone puts AT in the shadows. Pape is sorely missed imo!!
