Never liked him, didn't want him to be England manager, but hope he does the business at palace.. proper old school manager, will definitely give the players a lift, think it will divide the fans, but we start winning , no one will care
Just when I thought that I was out...........they pull me back in |

Absolutely delighted with the appointment of BFS. As much as I backed Pardew I could see us only heading in one direction. Hopefully he will get us organised and hard to beat. I have become sick and tired of seeing us throw points away due to poor organisation, lack of consentration and piss poor substitutions at crucial times in games.

We won't get relegated any time soon, the money will keep coming in, and we can carry on building the club. Safest option right now. Spot on - and so has Parrish been once again. The speed Big Sam has come in Pardew was a dead man walking for several weeks - Parrish couldn't allow any spec while AP was in charge so gave him one of the more convincing votes of confidence you are ever likely to hear, but the timing means his mind was already made up but we got the best out of AP while his replacement was being lined up - some on here thought SP was keeping his man too long, I think it took the Swansea shambles to convince him beyond the point of no return - it's very well-timed seeing as we have a manager in charge v Watford and the window's about to open. Parrish afforded AP all the time he could reasonably expect - precisely when that time ran out he acted immediately, decisively and effectively. We are one of 13 clubs in the prem for whom survival is the aim, any higher is a bonus. You can't raise those expectations by just wishing, we still need to consolidate and build - once the stadium is upgraded we can look forward to being a stable prem club, not a championship outfit punching above its weight which is where we are at right now.

After Pulis' chicanery, Warnock's bluster, Holloway's out of depthness, Freedman's abandonment, Dowie's mendacity and going back to Venables' shananagans, a man who would be willing to sell his knowledge of rule bending seems but nothing.
It's good to keep an opened mind, but not so open that your brains fall out. |

Really pleased with Sam Allardyce's appointment and happy the management situation has been resolved so quickly. He wouldn't normally have been my first choice, but under the circumstances I feel he is now the right man for us at the right time. Bring on Watford - and Bolton in the cup!

In the drama I'd forgotten the most convincing vote of confidence that we've ever heard and had us all fooled. Willo was thrown a curve ball as well with his 'Pardew will be around for some considerable time' ITK posts as well. Parish is fluid and ruthless when needed. Gone are the days of a month or more of Millen in charge and dithering over the best man available to start tomorrow. Just wish he hadn't offered 5 years to a dangerous manager. I'm sure he wished he hadn't as well. Again I am grateful Parish is our chairman/ co owner. Had me really concerned for a while he'd lost the plot with Pardew but he was operating secretly and getting a few points out of Pardew because Pardew feared this was his last gig so had to change. Massive upgrade? Yeah, he's at least twice the size! I'm not overjoyed, but I do think he can do a job a la Pulis. It is a step back, but sometimes you need to go back before moving forward again. Hopefully he'll bring in his own back room staff and we can improve fitness and concentration across the park for the full 90 minutes.
