As a cider aficionado though it has to be drunk at air temperature, ideally whilst sitting outside McDonalds hurling vitriolic abuse at passers by. Aka as Magic Potion, due to its capacity to allow the individual not only to see otherwise non-corporeal threats, but to actually engage them in physical combat.

Me too when I worked in Croydon 35 years ago as it was my usual lunchtime haunt I first went in '74. Back then it had the separate public and saloon bar and a really cool door arrangement on the right. Too cramped for a modern pub but great character. Still got the stables out the back where escaped animals from the market would be kept until their owners claimed them. That bit does pre-date even me though.

Can't be as bad as the pub I worked in a few years ago. Bloke used to knock the door at 9.30am as we were clearing away from the night before and setting up for the coming day and he was always let in as he was friends with the landlord. Used to have a triple bells with an orange Bacardi breezer tipped in.
