You are wrong, which is no surprise.

59 posts later...a few of the out crowd have spelt out what it would take to change their minds -- only Dangerclose seems perhaps a touch hard to please.

But I can't see a single reply from one of Pardew's supporters who is prepared to say 'if he lost 5 more on the spin I might start to wonder if I was right'

I am genuinely surprised by that.

Sorry Dave, I was bored of the ramblings, hence my post and thought the thread was descending into the pro/anti Pardew discussion which is everywhere else on the site

I was a pro-Pardew fan until the Swansea game, after the 5 goals, more so than the defeat, I am now not sure if he is the right man to turn things around.

He will get a few games now anyway I think, but if he was to lose them or not get many points before Christmas, then I would admit I was wrong with my initial pro-Pardew thoughts and he should be sacked before the transfer window

If I'm now classed as an outy, due to my doubts, then I would admit this was wrong if we finished 14th to 10th but more importantly had different plans, not just on the break as before or too attacking

Bottom three going into January and I will change my view and feel it is time to replace the manager.

I can't really imagine a manager that I'd prefer to be in charge. One that would consider coming to Palace.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Given that 2 of the 3 games before Christmas are against Chelsea and Man Utd, based on what you have said there is a good chance that you will admit that you were wrong !

I answered your question on page 1. If we have close to 20 points by the turn of the season, he stays. One win only will not be enough.

Or doesn't my opinion count?

Is that not materially different to your original answer? If it isn't -- and I did read responses carefully -- then I apologise unreservedly to you.

No. It's the same answer. I said I'd consider his replacement if we lose to Hull, but if we then beat Man U, Chesea, and Watford, I want him to stay (Wouldn't you?). That would be 23 points.

You asked what he needs to do. I said 18+ points by the turn of the season. That is still my answer.

Apology accepted

Pretty sure AP has pride & won't want to be kicked out & whilst I'd have seen him walk after the Swansea match I'd like to think he's been more or less told to sort it out quick time by SP or he's done for (regardless of what SP may say). But, as much as AP's to blame there's 11 guys on the pitch on crazy wages & all of them are experienced enough to know what needs doing, no matter who's the captain they should have enough about them to not have put in such crap shifts.

Hitting 41 points doesn't mean he is the right man for the job. The Premier League is quite weak this season with quite a few struggling sides.
I would happily admit i was wrong about Pardew if he sets us up correctly, makes good substitutions, has some kind of method to what we are doing. I can accept losing but when we look clueless and nothing changes week after week and from what i have seen and heard about him i just have no confidence in him and he will be sacked at some point.

True; Brighton are on 42, with Murray having scored this evening yet again.
It was wonderful to win the last game, but it was time for Pardew to go months ago IMO.
