I was having a look at our games up until the end of Jan : Sat Nov 19 Manchester City I have highlighted where I think 3 points is an absolute must and were I think a draw is achievable IF we don't forget that we have a back four. IF we get these results that gives us an extra 15 points meaning we would be going into February with 26 points. That leaves us 15 Games to get to 40, a further 14 points. Which is what I think safety will be for this season. April and May take up take up 2/3 of the fifteen games left (10 games in two months) of which we play the following. Chelsea away Going on current form I see us only getting 3 points in April. Meaning 12 points from saftey with 3 games left that are : Man city away leaving us short of the 40 point total. The months of Feb an March are going to be so vital to our survival where we have 6 games : Sunderland Home West Brom Away

"But, of course, they are important and I have been looking for one, because it will give us the foundation to win a game. "I want my team to play, I want my team to entertain. Certain Palace fans are focusing on that part of our game (keeping clean sheets), then that's understandable – but I am not going to change the way we play. "I want us to play and entertain. I felt the game against Liverpool, poised at 3-2, was an unbelievably great game for anyone watching. "Our Palace fans should be enjoying the fact we were having a go at Liverpool and not sitting back, looking to just stop them. So, that's how I am and that's how it is." Entertainment, regardless of results, will see us relegated as will his complete inability to recognise that there's a problem. He's actually suggesting that those who actually part with their hard-earned should be somehow grateful for his performances this year. Well after the string of lies Ritson has written before, I would be inclined to treat his scribbling with scepticism

We only attack teams at home after going behind, which is happening regularly at home as well as away. And that's after the possession football of passing it around the back and getting closed down every time whilst we don't close much and struggle to work out why x or y are having a field day on left or right wing or in the centre without any instructions to close him or prevent any of it. When we do attack teams, because they're ahead they all sit back and we struggle or fail to score. He can be happy he stuck to his principles watching sky sports up on the hill or in Spain on the pull for 20 year olds.

dannyh, I've only been looking up to Christmas and I've been concerned. Now I'm worried. What that chancer did at Burnley not protecting the halfway line just shows he is reckless and that is eventually dangerous when wins come few and far between. If he had any sense he'd have in the back of his mind 'Right, we've got the harder games at home and the easier sides away until Christmas when I might not be in this job. A trickle of points until a win or 2 should see us ok. Joel, Zeki, James, all of you sit back and sit in. Yohan, sit outside the box.' Thats still 6 in the box. Did he f***. Didn't enter his mind Burnley wanted to maximise points at home did he. Mind you I didn't think they'd equalise or we'd be so stupid. I lost my HT lay bet on Burnley I could've covered with a cheap back of Burnley but with a corner for us who would? Us from now on. If we don't come out of the easier games following hard games with decent points I trust SP will do the right thing and get someone you can trust he understands the value of points and not his own image. I'm not, just that Ritson has previous. It was only after a public spat with another journalist (Gareth Davies who called him out) on twitter that he finally admitted he lied

I think if Pardew cannot get at least 7 points by the 26 Dec 2016, then he has to go. I don't expect to beat Man City, Man Utd or Chelsea. But I don't mind if we do, and say drop points against Hull or Swansea. If we lose the next four games, then he has to go.

Will 1 draw be enough? Or do you actually mean like I do that he has to actually win one match in the next 4 at the very least? Even then he's on shaky ground and only 1/2 games from the golden handshake of however many million to go on the pull in 20 something bars in Marbella.

All this negativity and criticism. But you must praise Pardew for playing entertaining football. Entertaining, that is, for the opposition fans to watch.

I didn't find Saturday's shambles remotely entertaining, apart from a few spells of Wilf. All I really saw was the worst defending I can remember and two set pieces at their end of which we made such a bollocks that we managed to concede more or less directly from them. "Embarrassing" would be a better description than "entertaining". Or maybe just "s***e".

when i think of the great managers, i imagine them attending games of small clubs during the close season and consolidating their work for the new season. when i think of Pardew, i think of the link below...
