Someone mentioned about Jon Moss not keeping up with play.My goodness, when there is a lightning break and end-to-end football at times, how on earth can one expect a referee to be near the ball all the time ? Referee cannot be everywhere !

Part of my point was that Moss was often too near the ball, i.e. in the way.

Referees with a reasonable level of fitness and match awareness seem to be well positioned most of the time. Moss was like a sack of cement.

Referees are damned if they do and damned if they don't.
If they are not near the ball they are "Not keeping up with play" and if they are near the ball they are now "In the way" !

There are some refs who are unfortunately for the game attention-seeking petulant school-masters.

A good ref is up with the play fit does not give anything unless he is damn sure and knows the rules backwards we are aware of him and respect him - we want to watch the game not the referee.

You are just twisting my words. You know perfectly well what I meant.

I understood this but I just think a word of warning may have sufficed in a couple of situations. Also some of the bookings for fouls were a little inconsistent. However, nobody's perfect and the ref was not the deciding factor in the game. He could have been better but, then again, we could be Barcelona.

..think you'll find he slightly was.

..during a match well officiated, you are not made aware of the ref.

Is it just me now that has a horrible feeling that Moss is gonna have a mare, send off 2 of ours, disallow perfectly legit goals of ours and allow a Bolasie goal even though he was 20 yards offside!!

Sometimes it's better the devil you know!

Time to be reminded that you don't need Clattenburg to get f***ed over by a bad decision. Excellent example today by Pawson at the end of Burnley v Arsenal and if I were a Burnley fan I waould want the little slug hanged.

Perhaps he was working on the adage that "two wrongs make a right"? Either that or both he & the lino are both inept.

Anyone else notice these decisions are going to those near the top of the table/"big teams" Maybe the reason for all these inept decisions is to create as big a following for the title race as possible. "Resume natural order" as it were.
I smell a conspiracy... (just a half joke-half scepticism)
