I agree that we will lose some games - as every team does - but that doesn't disregard who we should and shouldn't be beating. Let's look at the six Premierleague games we've played: West Brom - Poor side that we played at our home ground. This one is the most debatable in my opinion, though. Spurs - Much better side than us, and definitely wouldn't expect anything from this game. Bournemouth - Were in very poor form, and still were up until Everton. We dominated the second half, and arguably should have beaten them if we'd put our chance away. Stoke - A team in very, very poor form and rightly at the bottom of the table. Middlesbrough - A team realistically looking at a relegation battle, as do most promoted sides. Although in good form, on paper we should be beating them. Sunderland - A team always in a relegation battle, and should be in another one this season. Breaking it down like that, we very well could've been second with 15 points. I also fully expect us to drift down the table in the coming five games, where I expect us to lose at least three of those five (Everton (Aw), Leicester (Aw) and Liverpool (H)). So, really, with the possible exception of WBA, it's gone pretty much to form. So what's your point? And Bournemouth. I didn't really have a point, I was just attempting to back up someone who threw a point out there, and a valid one at that.

I would be more than happy for AP to get the Eng job, has all the right credentials,,,, A man who has 10 paragraphs worth of 'Controversies' on Wikipedia, multiple superinjunctions, failure specialist having not one a single thing in 20 years. We would be fine this season under the guidance of someone like Hodgson whilst we search for proper long term manager for next season onwards. Pardew will fail miserably for England and deserves to fail in order to bring his ego back down to reality. Charlton fans felt something similar about Curbishly. That went well

Well if he is offered the job and wants it , I think he will take , and should be allowed to do so with our blessing. Personally , I would offer it to Eddie Howe.

Pards is favourite for the England Job. But would we care that much? Yes we have made a good start to the season, but we should be doing well after all. We have enough quality to be top half without question. There were enough rumours of player unrest last season and Pardew's arrogance when things are going well, that it would lead many of us to believe that the same thing could happen again. Personally, i would not shed that many tears. In our current position in the league and with the quality we have got i believe there would be plenty of good managers to choose from. You never know a new manager might decide that buying a left back in January would be a good idea!!!! Also, he might decide that Sullay KaiKai is worth a go in the first team!!! Either way, i feel total apathy about the whole thing. Does anyone else feel the same?

Lovely chap, but what exactly has Southgate done in football management that qualifies him for the England job ? He's seemingly squeaky clean, not controversial and knows the set up. I think that will be their priority after the Big Fat Sam debacle. I agree Southgate doesn't deserve the job given his lack of club management (if he gets it permanently) and personally ,never done it for me as manager but I don't think that will be the FA's main concern at the moment. They have always seemed to avoid 'characters ala Jack Charlton and 'BFS seemed to represent a bit of a departure for them, one that has monumentally has back fired. Given this I really can't see Pards being the next permanent choice. It will be Southgate or Howe for me. Edited by cpfc1976 (27 Sep 2016 11.04pm)

Lovely chap, but what exactly has Southgate done in football management that qualifies him for the England job ? To be fair Willo Southgate has probably done about as much as Pardew and many other English managers..... When it comes to English managers these days the pickings are pretty slim for successful ones. For what it's worth in my opinion the FA won't touch Pardew... The unnamed Prem manager in the paper a few months back who had been shagging around and saying how s*** training was etc hasn't been named but it's pretty common knowledge who it is... They can do without anymore scandal so I'd say were pretty safe!!
