So the two extreme poles on Pardew are either saying:

Pro:
He's got two wins now with a team he was more able to construct himself which is when you are able to start evaluating the true ability of a manager

Anti:
He's a streaky manager and we could just so easily go on another losing streak

We've just beaten two mediocre teams, nothing to get excited about yet

But actually, none of us YET have proof for or against any of the things above and we must continue to wait.

In reality we all ought to be open minded (I'm not telling anyone that they have to be though) because time will tell. None of us can rule out the possibility of Pardew moving us onwards and upwards from the 10th place finish the season before last. But on the flip side, none of us can state as a fact that he will.

I am optimistic, but I don't think I could take an extreme stance (pro or anti) at this moment in time.

And still people aren't happy as it was 'only' Boro & Stoke. Wins are wins, regardless who the opposition is. If you can't enjoy it why bother at all?

With our illustrious history competing at the top of the football pyramid and our huge fan Base can you blame them.

Exactly, there is an old expression we used to use when we went clubbing in my youth:

"A mouth's a mouth"

A good analogy I feel.

Exactly. And it was the manner of the wins too. All good stuff. Obvious that Pardew hasn't lost the dressing room nor lost the plot. He just needed to buy and tinker a bit and the players themselves needed to up their own personal game. Took him eight months but he is our Super Al and he had earned that period.

And well done Parish for not undermining him or hinting at hte sack ever.

Great performance yesterday - one of our best since we came up. However, it was against a poor Stoke side bottom of the table who we have now beaten 6 times in 8 games since we came up. Our only other two wins in 2016 were against a Norwich side on the way don and a 'Boro side who have just come up.

Only two wins in the second half of last season was the worst run in the league (bar Villa) and could not just be excused by injuries, and although we got to the Cup Final we failed to win against a very average Man Utd side.

Let's see how we get on in the next few games before the calls for Pardew to be England manager or get an OBE or anything else.

I turned to the guy next to me on Saturday when the second goal went in and said that if people want Pardew out, they should be brave enough to chant it when the team is winning not just when losing, then at least they would prove they have at least a little backbone and substance.

This made me smile and I think I agree.

Trouble is, it'd probably be seen as an ironic pop at Newcastle.

Where are those know-it-all Geordies that came on here "in peace" at the moment? They could still give this a negative spin if they really fancied. I'd have had more respect for them if they'd come on and said "we know this debate is ill-timed and will get under your skin a bit" because I actually believed they did want a sensible debate to an extent but were lying to us and maybe themselves by trying to make out they weren't also crowing in the process.

I don't think anyone hasn't enjoyed the two wins. I think they're saying after 4 seasons in the Prem we should really be expected to beat two, let's face it quite poor sides.

It appears that anyone who has dared to raise concerns over the worst run out of any European team in 2016 is basically being branded as deluded, not a 'real' supporter and not supporting the club. It's almost as deluded as anyone who thinks that our form in 2016 was purely down to injuries alone.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Raising concerns would be fine as would saying your piece on the decline in the second half of last season but the relentless negativity and AP bashing is what the problem was.None of us ever said AP was blameless but you lot gave him no credit for anything despite the FA Cup and no relegation.Credit where credits due you are at least still posting whereas a lot of the anti-AP lot are nowhere to be seen.

Reading some of the comments on various posts, seems our own fans are giving it a good go at putting a negative spin on things!

I may be a bit anti AP but I would like to add that at no point in any of my posts have I called for him to be sacked. I said after the spurs game that the Bournemouth, Boro, stoke and Sunderland games were crucial and a return of anything less than 7 points from those 4 games should really result in us reviewing his position.

Anyhow we have 7 points with a game to spare so hopefully now we can kick on and find some decent form over a longer period than just two games. Believe it or not I want him to succeed. I was merely concerned with a run, which in reality was pretty shocking.

Did anyone else notice that when the cries of "...getting sacked in the morning..." towards Hughes started, Pards asked the crowd to stop...
