I love our club as much as any fan but why, in the name of all that's holy, would he swap Olympique de Marseille for Palace? And saying "Cabaye" isn't an answer, before someone trots out that tired old cliché (he's older and was looking for regular, top-level football to maintain his national place).

I think that the tweet from SP is part of the smoke and mirrors process. We are negotiating seriously for someone me thinks whose name has perhaps not yet hit the headlines. The deal with Wickham springs to mind. This seems to be how we do our business ,,,under the radar!
