I remember Paul Mortimer getting a lot of stick. One match v L'pool he was getting abuse from one guy in the H'dale all match, even when he beat 2 and smacked the crossbar from 20 yards.

Super Al was a sarcastic nickname that inspired the Eagle Eye to start an equally sarcastic comic strip, "The Adventures of Super Al." If truth be told, he's a far better manager than player, even though he had many useful moments in the Red 'n Blue.
