We need a striker, granted, but our midfield is pretty poor. We don't have enough technical ability in there, no real strength and no goals. £25m for Bolasie is something you can't say no to because, let's face it, Yala could be brilliant but wasn't anywhere near being effective. I think Cabaye is decent, but we need more from midfield, so, Sissoko would do that for us.

I think Cabaye is decent, but we need more from midfield, so, Sissoko would do that for us.

The last manager to get him playing well on a regular basis is AP. Having said that, is our scouting network as limited as AP's old players and top-end Premier League rejects? The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

35 mil is effectively not selling him to anyone bar the super rich clubs. He's a decent player on his day but I believe he is in his thirties. He's also playing for a relegated team in the Championship. Although he did well enough to stand out there - he didn't do enough to keep them up.

We have needed a decent striker for a while now and still no nearer to getting one or two over the line,with time running out to do so.

We need a player like him to change our very predictable style of play. He maybe a gamble, but Pardew must know how to get him playing. The main issue we have is, a very one dimensionable style, teams have worked us out, we need to change, he could be the answer. Unfortunately I doubt we will get him.
