Everyone keeps forgetting cham is a striker as well and when presented the chance on the last game of the season...he scored. Granted his record isn't great however we do have another striker on our books!!

Any chance it could be a member(s) of the backroom team perhaps, as well as players?

Bamford was great last season in the Champ. Why not worth a punt as Sanogos replacement. I expect another striker to come in and Campbell to leave.

Would also work a heck of a lot better now that Bolasie is being employed with the free reign to go centrally every so often. Doesn't work in a rigid 4-5-1 but that Liverpool set up suggests that we could be very fluid up top

Bamford and Zouma on loan

I have prepared one of my own time capsules. I have placed some rather large samples of dynamite, gunpowder and nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what we are really like.

Well maybe, just maybe we are signing Pato I know it my sound crazy but since this morning there is all sorts of buzzing about Pato being proposed to Crystal Palace and West Ham... I suppose the other signing is no one else than McCarthy or a new defender...

Don't u dare tease me like that. If we pulled that transfer off I would run to South Africa... naked!!!!

A wild guess: a double swoop from QPR for Austin and McCarthy. I think it'd be difficult to conclude negotiations with two clubs in one day so the possibility of two players from one club makes a certain amount of sense. So far as I can tell, QPR appear to be in England right now which makes being on the plane possible. We've been linked with both players and Austin seems to want to stay in London. We also have players QPR want/need who could easily form part of the part of the transfer. Lastly, I doubt Parish would say this if it wasn't very near done. NOTE: This is a wild guess on my part. Just fun really.

If we sign Austin, the internet will implode tomorrow after all the rumours!

I'd be surprised if we got Austin. i can see him at Villa following Benteke. They've lost their 2 best players and I can see them spending the cash out of necessity

If the rumours that Austin won't leave London the we can forget about Villa being competition, leaving just us and West ham in the running.

Bamford isn't what we need and I can't understand why we would sign him unless Gayle and Campbell are both going soon.

McCarthy is excellent and an improvment in Hennessey.

I hope it's Austin and McCarthy but I suspect we may be waiting a little longer for Austin.

We've lost Sonogo and Ameobi.

Bamford is a massive improvement on both.

To get an England U21 striker with a 1 in 2 strike rate after 100 odd games FOR FREE to replace those 2 is not bad going.

How can you say Bamford isn't what we need before he has kicked a ball for us? This time last year Tottenham fans would probably have said the same thing about Kane.

We'll be paying Chelsea for the loan.
