I feel sorry for her and her kids, but him, I have trouble giving a s**t about.

So you have no compassion for a man who has lost his wife and mother of his young children. What a wonderful human being you must be.

You are a very magnanimous person. Of course if it were your sister or a very good female friend he had put through the emotional wringer innumerable times you would be just as caring for him.

What do you really know about what should be their private lives. How do you know his wife went through an emotional wringer. They were still a married partnership, so presumably problems they may or may not have had were overcome. What has the the sex lives of people got to do with a spouse dying of cancer. You sound like a judgemental Sunday School teacher from the 1950s.

Sadly i know all too well what Rio is going through, 16 months ago my two children and i lost my wife (though not to cancer).

While i cannot understand why any man would cheat on someone he loves the fact is she stayed and they worked through it - does that mean he wont feel any grief, trust me he will.

Nothing prepares you for this, i have lost friends and older family members but the loss of my wife was devastating. The children are at a similar age to Rio's and it has hit then harder than you can imagine.

Regardless of what you feel for the man (cant say im a fan of his) respect that whether you think he did or didnt love her, he is hurting if not for the loss of his wife but for the pain of his children.

Not this man, no, others yes. But then I don't profess to be a wonderful person, are you? Until a week ago, everyone regarded him as a c**t, now that his wife is dead, he's special

Everyone dies, most of the time people don't give a s**t. When you're famous, everyone cares and cries and bemoans the unfairness of it all.

Sham sympathy, for a man reviled by most on here at some point, absolved because his wife suffered. F**k him. I feel sorry for the kids, her parents etc, but not for that wannbe peckham gangster hanger on, with rapist mates, who was lucky to avoid being another Marlon King.

Have to agree with you Jamie, Given his past, how the hell he ramained in the media and acted as a role model baffled me. Sad for his children and her family but feel no sadness for him.

I take it you, Kermit and Jamie feel the same way about Martin Luther King then?

Whats Martin Luther King got to do with Rio Ferdinand? My opinion is of Rio, not his wife, his kids or his colour. Plays the saint but was the opposite.

While I agree that the slagging Ferdinand is getting here is not appropriate, comparing him to Martin Luther King is quite a stretch. Yes, he did have affairs but what he contributed to society is a good deal more than Rio. Besides, some of those women were FBI plants due to J. Edgar Hoover, whose own morality is far more questionable than either MLK or Ferdinand, having a near pathological hatred of him.

On Thursday 30 million Brits are gonna vote and, thus, give their opinions on people they don't actually know. Impossible to go through life judging only those you have met. Any Islamophobe could tell you that.
