I've taken the piddle with numbers but I doubt this would change much

At least 4 of the below are in my collection courtesy of staffie

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
Thomas Lang - Scallywag Jazz
The Jam - Direction Reaction Creation
Talking Heads - MSAB&Food
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
Definitive Impressions
Wedding Present - George Best
Breeders - Pod
Marvin Gaye - Trouble Man
Belly - Star
Cocteau Twins - Blue Bell Knoll
The Essential Billie Holiday
Portishead - Portishead
Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation
Shelleyan Orphan - Helleborine
Nine Below Zero - Live at the Marquee
The Pixies - Surfer Rosa

Crikey - nostalgia fest with those 2. Saw Shelleyan Orphan live but only them performing on The Tube. 9 Below Zero was my 1st proper gig [Sounds like sitting in Tulse Hill...]

Love your choices, but odd given your username not pick a certain Curtis Mayfield Album [which is in my top 10]?

Curtis makes an appearance (Definitive Impressions)
Superfly is an immense album but I always tend to listen to more Impressions than his solo stuff.

I saw Shelleyan Orphan 4 times (which was a joint record with My Bloody Valentine until their reunion tour last year). Helleborine is an album I will never get bored of - I'm chuffed someone else even recognises them Saw 9 below twice but both this century so a watered down version of their Marquee days. Very jealous of anyone who caught them in their prime.

My brother in law was/is 9 below 's drummer. On the last Sunday of every month Dennis Greaves and Mickey run and play at an open mic blues night at the Pelton Arms in Greenwich. Tis free and a great night out.

Great thread by the way and here's my top ten after some consideration and in no particular order.

Sound Affects - The Jam
The Band - The Band
Our Favourite Shop - The Style Council
Harvest - Neil Young
Welcome to the Terror Dome - Public Enemy
This is Big Audio Dyanamite - Big Audio Dyanamite
De Stijl - The White Stripes
You're Gonna Miss Me - Roky Erikson
So Far Away - The Chords
Times They Are A Changin - Bob Dylan

PS - I could easily swap All Mod Cons or Setting Sons for Sound Affects. Selecting my favourite Jam album is always a nightmare.

This. Why I gave up and chose none of them!

I also note that all my albums are old. I do like White Stripes, Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and other "modern" stuff but not played during my impressionable years.

Pretty much how their gigs went anyway. When I saw them, a fan jumped up, passed security and began the opening line of a song. Nobody dragged him off. Dennis stood aside, let him sing the whole song while the band supported. Brilliant attitude.

I picked the box set that's got everything on it

Cheers for the Pelton shout Nick. My other half lives a stones throw from there so I'll hassle her into it one month.

Is your B.I.L. your wifes bro or Amys other half?

The only one that would regularly get in my top ten...at no.1 is "Cupid & Psyche '85" - Scritti Politti.

It's my older sister, Jackies other half.
