Even if they're desperate to play for us I don't like the thought of a player holding a club to ransom. Gives out a poor message. Gomis wants to go to a club which can offer him 'Champions League' football.

We need a powerful and brave frontman to compliment the squad. Gayle is our assasin, Murray is a tidy player (who I desperately want to see do well) but we haven't got a target man who'll stick his head where it hurts. Gestede this season has proved he can play that role. Whether he can do that at the top level remains to be seen. Looking at goal scoring records at previous clubs makes sense. However, sometimes you have to look beyond that. I remember when we got Armstrong in from Millwall ages ago for 1m quid, which back then was a big outlay. He had scored hardly anything for them. If there was a HOL back then Coppell (the manager who bought him) would have been crucified ahead of him signing. Truth is, until settled at club and integrated into a system of play that suits, nobody can really judge a player, particularly a centre forward. If its true he asked not to play to force a move through then I don't want him anywhere near the club, completely unprofessional, not the sort of character you need in a relegation dog fight.

Hopefully we keep Murray too if we sign this guy and let cambpell go,leaving us gayle,Murray,sonogo and gesdede that's looks like pretty decent options to me.
