I read the Sun. I'm not a snob you see. Many of the broad sheets print as much rubbish as the tabloids plus they are far more influenced by their political leanings and often try to sway the reader to their way of thinking.
The Sun has its faults but show me a newspaper that doesn't

And you think the Sun doesn't do that? Seriously?!

Of course they do. Did I say that? They all do. Some worse than others though. I think we all know that. I read other newspapers too. Some are better for certain interests than others.
Some like to sneer at the Sun and other tabloids but its sports coverage is good.
It makes me laugh how so many people claim to not read tabloids when they outsell many so called 'high brow' papers 10 to 1! I think that means someone's buying it. Well, quite a lot really.

When I lived in London I read the Daily Mail & the Evening Standard. Over here I'm considered a progressive liberal, whatever that means. I won't read a Murdoch owned paper because the one he owns in NYC, the Post, slandered my mother when she worked for the New York City Board of Education.

Meanwhile, back on the farm, no white smoke from the league. Any word when they will emerge from their conclave?

It's fine mate, no need to get defensive. If you want to read that pile of sh*te it's completely up to you.

What are you saying Podders, Any wrongful behaviour in the future will go unpunished by the league as a disincentive to clubs reporting other clubs for wrongful behaviour? Surely that can't happen....

You make a good point. I don't think ALL misbehaviour will be ignored. But I do think Cardiff's request to swap the points gained in that match will fall short.

For one thing, Pulis makes a fair claim that he did not change his team. He used the same lineup as he had used previously. For another, the game was played for the full 90 minutes between two capable sets of professionals, so it's hardly going to be an advantage - as they say, you still have to play the game. Knowing Man. City's lineup doesn't mean you can stop them. I also believe people who say that this kind of thing goes on all the time. If so, that fact will not be lost on the league.

In short, I think the league will find insufficient evidence to overturn the result. If I am wrong, we might be seeing a lot of lawsuits and frivolous claims in the coming years.

The only fitting response from the PL after hearing both sides will be to fine Cardiff for wasting their time. Docking of points or match forfiture would open the biggest can of worms imaginable and they can't allow this to happen. Most of the press have already condemned Mr Tan for being a very poor loser. Most Cardiff fans are probably cringing in their (true) blue shirts.

I fully expect a -75 point deduction and 75m fine to be coming our way

At the risk of putting some GCSE maths on the HOL, is a minus 75 pt deduction kinda like two minuses? Which is a plus? So are we actually saying a 75 point addition?! Did I just use maths and bad grammar to make us outside title contenders? :P

I don't understand this whole 'they knew our team so we had to change it' thing. Surely you just pick your best 11 players and rely on them being better than the opposition's best 11. Doubt Real would drop Ronaldo to the bench because the opposition knew in advance that he'd be starting...

Exactly, do I criticise you reading the Beano? Of course not.
Each to their own's what I say.
Joking asside I'm not defensive about it at all. I read all sorts for all sorts of different reasons. I'm currently reading a Mark Billingham crime novel. My previous book was Dante's Divine Comedy. I enjoy both for completely different reasons. Doesn't make me a halfwit nor does it make me a professor.
Some get pretty hung up about the stigma attatched to certain products. It can turn one into a snob. I'm happy in the skin I'm in as they say, as I am sure you are.

Doubt if it will finish this week. CPFC2010 have their say tomorrow, then the lawyers have to talk it over, then the jury will go out and consider.....
