It wasn't really until the Chelsea game that I realised where Jerome's value is. Ok, he doesn't score a whole lot but he's big, strong and pacy and he's capable of seriously disrupting defences, offering scoring opportunities for others. Let's not forget, a player who can cause havoc in front of goal AND score on a regular basis is like gold dust and would sure as hell be well out of our price range. Very, very useful player to have and we should make every effort to get him on board permanently in the summer.

No way. Send him back. Find someone who can put it in the net. Missed another sitter today - he's stealing a living as a striker. Defender maybe, but wasted up front.

I'd look at keeping him at the right price. Whilst he's not a goal scoring forward for us, he's only 27 and clearly knows where the goal is, he just can't seem to put it beyond the keeper, and keep it between the posts. Desperately unlucky not to score on Saturday. Thing is, he could quite easily become a 10-12 goal a season premiership player, and we create a lot off of him.

If Dwight had played in place of Cameron for every game we would probably have him as a top scorer with 6 or seven goals by now. I also feel we would be possibly 6 or 7 points lighter. I'm guessing that is roughly how TP reads it too. CJ is not about goals. Strange for a striker indeed but proof is in the 37 point pudding.

He was for B'ham in 2009-2010 but doesn't now look anywhere near this, even a 5-8 man. His last 4 seasons since then have produced around 10 league goals in total. Jordan Mutch has scored 7 goals this season in the league, which would make him top scorer for us. Whatever happens we will need a change of personnel within the strikers or somebody to up their game next season in front of goal. Edited by Booted Eagle (13 Apr 2014 6.25pm)

Nailed it Kerms, although Im not sure if Gayle does have more goals in him than Jerome. I watched him yesterday chase the ball as they passed from one defender to another, never once did he get it, but it totally unsettled their system and is huge asset for us. For those here who just don't get it... roll the ball out to the defender who has to make a forward pass and apply no pressure on him and see how many times out of 10 he is successful. Do the same experiment again with Jerome chasing them down - lots of misplaced passes and defenders going out of position to avoid him. Unsettles the whole team. He's big, strong and very quick - easily the quickest in our team and a real handful for defences. For this alone he is worth it. I would LOVE to see him bang in a couple and get his confidence up. Should we progress in this league then this will need to be reviewed but for where we are and the team we need to be, hes a big part of our success for me. I honestly don't understand how some cannot see the bleedin' obvious. CJ is an important cog in the machine.

He would be good to be kept as a squad player, but i feel he needs to change his job description, to attacking midfielder, as he is no striker.

Apart from Julian Speroni, I wouldn't say there are any truly great players at Palace. However, TP has them working as a team, an effective unit working together and for each other. That team under TP has taken Palace from being nailed on certainties for relegation in November to virtual safety with five games still to play. Jerome, while not scoring goals, is an important part of that team. If we do stay up, then next season would be a time to consolidate Palace as a Premier League club. I suspect TP would continue to have Palace playing pretty much as they have since he took over this season. I feel Jerome, if we have the chance of keeping him, would have a place in that team next season.

When Pulis took over we were 19th on 7pts.W.Ham who were just above the 'Line' had 10 pts.Yes nearly everyone had us as near certainties for the drop.In his 21 games in charge we have attained 30 pts.

I am not sure Stoke would accept a bid of 11 pence I would rather see a Ba or Fletcher up there - both more than capable of running around and being physical but both (albeit having fragmented seasons this year) both know how to score
