76 defeat to Southampton in the semi. I was in bits afterwards. Made worse because I had broken up with my Southampton born girlfriend a week or two before and her Southampton season ticket holding father would have been very happy. On the upside we got back together after a couple of months, got married in 1978 and happily retired to France 4 years ago. I still don't like Southampton though...

There's been so many for me....losing to Bristol City in the play-offs after Ben Watson had missed a penatly for us that would of seen us go to Wembley. Charlton relegating us in 2005. Although we did end up surviving on the last day at Hillsborough I will always remember the previous game at home to West Brom where if we won we would of been safe. I think it was 1-1 and Ambrose had a shot in the last minute that got saved of the line by a defender and meaning we had to go to the last game of the season not knowing if we would survive. Walking out the ground I felt sick and nervous at how close we had just come....but then again Hillsborough was one of the best days being a Palace fan so who would change it now!
Steven Reid saved it on the line.
On a side note, I have the match ball from this game at home.

Plenty, but one that still wrankles is the Cup Semi in 76 and it still hurts today - My 9 year old self genuinely thought we were going to win the FA Cup
Alan I went to every game in that cup run,but my mind is playing tricks with me. No Walton & Hersham then Millwall. See attached. 3rd round was scarboro......away knew it.

The Claridge goal is right up there but I am still emotionally scarred by losing the 1976 semi final.

It probably isn't the most painful, but stings alot. league cup 1st round defeat to Notts County at Selhurst, think there was only 2'000 fans, was raining , was only about 16 and we lost 2-1 and we played a really strong side. And I think Darren Casket may have scored the winner, having turned us down that summer. Paid about £28 odd quid for a ticket ( bought on the night I think) All in all a true fail.

Where to start. Back to Back Double relegation thanks to Cardiff (pain eased last Saturday) in the 70's. My worst memory of all - 1 June 2010 until 3pm - when Lloyds and Bank of Scotland between them almost liquidated CPFC as we know it. Neither my son nor I could work that day until we knew the club had been saved. Text messages, phone calls - just awful. It was like losing a close family member and a part of our lives, and we could only hope, pray and protest at Lloyds in Lombard Street. I felt sick until safety happened.

Being in my early 20's so I don't remember Leicester or the cup final. For me it was probably the League Cup Semi 2nd leg against Cardiff. We had recently come out of admin, the team was decimated and we were the underdogs. To this day I still haven't seen that shootout(I'm told they were awful).

The last time when we were in the premiership and we drew 2-2 with charlton and got relegated. I couldn't get a ticket for the palace end and so my cousin managed to get me a ticket for the palace end and sitting in with them singing at the palace fans ther stupid 'Amarillo' song 'sha la la la and we sent the palace down' broke my heart. Also, the year we lost to Bristol City I think it was in the play off semi final and lee trundle scored and sent them to the final and not us.... The lows of being a palace fan

76 semi for me, that cup run instilled in me everything it is to be a Palace fan.the unbelievable joy of winning a football match, i was 10 years old at the Bridge, first away game, with my big brother Dave (12)got caught up in the trouble, ended up watching second half stood by the invalid cars at the shed end!.After the Leeds & sunderland results all palace fans said "it's our year" and i believed them.We tied scarfs around the t.v on semi-final day and prayed!. For all the bad days mentioned on this thread, i was at most of them, nothing matches the tears of that semi-final,
