A manager always wants to make new signings because it potentially makes his job easier - but it isnt always in the clubs interest. I was impressed by Parish's interview on radio 5 today. He knows this ; Pulis needs to get on with managing what he has got. Moody is a buffer between Pulis and Parish. Wigan is a good chance to rest key players and give fringe players game time and assess them

Out of order though if Parish reneges on promises made to Pulis to get him to take the job in the first place.

Pulis has kept his end of the bargain, now it's time for Parish to keep his.

As in any walk of life, an incoming manager inheriting a team will have his own thoughts about the personnel. That manager will have a style/way of doing things that mean either the workforce adapts or the manager gets people in to do it his way.

It was widely reported that TP took the job on the understanding that funds would be available in January. Now it seems there are strings attached to that understanding.

If Steve Parish wants to recruit young players with a re-sale value, fine. But they are unlikely to have the depth of Premier League experience that many, the manager included, feel we urgently need. In football you have to have a short term strategy as well as looking at the long term.

If its youth with re-sale value then I suggest a hefty bid for someone like Jordan Rhodes. If it's shorter term to help the bid to stay up, then a different type of player is required and there has to be some trust placed in the manager that his judgement is correct.

I hope that Pulis will now change his mind about going after Crouch>

Totally agree - give me Wilbs any day over Crouch - and did you see how Crouch elbowed one of our players (Ward?) in the face. Should have been sent off. Or maybe he couldn't help it.

I am sure that the entire Management at the club are working tirelessly to continue to improve our future on and off the pitch.

From Barbados in some cases

I don't know what people are getting wound up.

Nothing ever really happens until the last 10 days of the window...it just takes one of the bigger clubs to get a signing over the line before the chain reaction starts.

It's like some people have never followed football thru a transfer window before.

This x 1000

Just read this whole thread and there is alot of people panicking. And a suprisingly high amount of people who don't believe in the current team. Yes, we need a goal scorer...but we have been absolutely awesome in the majority of our games this season, I am loving watching us evolve and improve as the games go by...our squad is strong and we don't need loads of signings desperately in my opinion.

P.s - two holding midfielder FTW...going to one would cause us problems at present.

You don't know what you are talking about. We were awful today. The only reason we won was Stoke were worse. You cant rely on that happening every game.

Ok, well, you don't know what you're talking about. So there you go.

'this x 1000'? Really? How old are you?

Old enough to know when someone is being an obnoxious prick.

"You don't know what you are talking about" - who the f*** do you think you are?!

We have this topic every transfer window and it's the same speculation every time! Why don't we wait for another two weeks and then we can have a balanced debate AND we will all have a clearer view of who's in,who's out and whether TP is happy or not! At the moment it is all baseless. Ollie's Dad,Ash.

This.

I really don't see how you can believe this (either of you) and be a registered member of HOL. Internet forums exists solely so people with common interests can speculate. Why on earth would you spend time here if you were only happy with after-the-fact, balanced debate? The joke, surely, is on you and not on the rest of us. If you believe the above, you are wasting your time and energy participating in this forum.

Let the debate commence! Ollie's Dad,Ash.
