Despite being easily one of my favourite palace players of my lifetime and one of the best, how many other players would get booed when they step up to take a penalty?

Ben Watson.

I still maintain that it was more like a collective groan rather than a chorus of boos. Certainly it was in the Upper Tier. Perhaps I'm being too charitable to my fellow fans.

I can’t think of any players that I have hated whilst they still played for us. Who was it that chucked their shirt on the ground after being substituted? I think he is the only Palace player I have ever booed whilst still with the club.

I’m sure that if we knew what went on behind the scenes then we probably wouldn’t like any of the players.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

David wright ... Absolutely woeful footballer. But dougie loved him. Surprised he didn't want him at Bolton!!!

I quite like Wright, always thought he was harshly treated by our fans. Again, he was clearly a limited player, but he worked hard and was a decent squad player.

I find it difficult to hate players who are hard-working, even if they are s***e, at least they're trying.

Hahaha mate if we had a team full of 'triers' we wouldn't be where we are now would we. He gave the ball away more times than I've ever seen any other player. No dis-respect to him but he IS as woeful footballer. End of.

Gareth Taylor...could never score for us but came good after at Burnley
Ade Akinbiyi....ditto ...inept in front of goal
Paul Mortimer ...lazy and largely ineffective but scored a nicw goal vs Man U in 1993
Kuqi Zohar and Conaugo also pretty poor

Yup, probably the one name to fit the 'hated' moniker.

I can't say I ever 'hated' a player for being simply inept (Akinbuye being an example).

But the Bostock deceipt (whether it was him or his advisors) was the pits.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I find it hard to hate a player just because they're not very good. Generally it's a bad attitude, laziness or lack of effort which make me dislike a player, and I don't think you can accuse Wright of any of these.

Yeah but look on to today and who's laughing now? the guy is worthless as a footballer. No-one wants him and his attitude sucks big time. Makes Julian Gray look committed.

Not entirely true.

Without wishing to userp the thread into a Bostock one, he's apparently re-inventing himself in Belgium (albeit league 2) under Royal Antwerp boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. From what I've read (which isn't much to be honest) he's, nowadays, less of the big-time-charlie that he always used to think he was.

Having said that, I stick by my original condemnation of the man.

Mark Kennedy anyone? not hate or anything but another one of the Taylor Tripe.

I met him on a night out when he was at Man City as he was dating a girl I knew - he is one arrogant prick and was lucky he got out of the place without getting chinned by about 11 people...
