I'm probably in a minority of one but what about Peter Taylor ? Maybe looking at this through rose tinted specs though cos my dad started taking me and my brother regularly in the early 70's and I remember the roar of the crowd as he steamed up the wing in his number 11 shirt.Maybe more hero than legend.Played for England while at Palace in the 3rd, think there's only a handfull who've done that (Johhny Byrne was one I believe ??).And what about the winner at Chelsea in the cup 76 ? Shame about his later involvment and the way that ended but still a bit of a Palace legend I reckon.

growing up in bermondsey (millwally country), bein palace has always been tough. But Peter Taylor was the reason i support palace. Legend to me.

Surely we're overlooking someone, no one else mentioned has there own smiley on the Holmesdale.

Rachid Harkouk, just because he was Rachid Harkouk

matt svensson. Was sold to the clowns when we had money issues, despite not wanting to leave. Gave money to the club to help us out. Legend in my eyes.

For me:

The Beyond All Doubts
Jim Cannon
Len Chatterton
Steve Coppell
Joyce the Voice
Steve Kember
Johnnie Byrne
Peter Simpson
Attilio Lombardo
Arthur Wait
Malcolm Allison
Dougie Freedman
With the exception of Lombardo and Allison, none needs any explanation. Lombardo is there because he achieved a lifetime in 9 months. He simply turned us, briefly, from reality into a dream and, thus, will never be forgotten. Allison laid the foundations for the past 45 years of our history. He was a visionary, and we still watch his vision (the EAGLES) today.

The debatable but not for me[. Legendary moments, but not quite true legends for one reason or another. /u]
Ian Wright
Mark Bright
Kenny Sansom
Terry Long
Clinton Morrison
Peter Taylor
Don Rogers
Ron Noades

With regard to today's Palace, Julian Speroni and Block A Holmesdale are closest to joining the list.

Fan Zhiyi - a Chinese legend in my eyes. first player to move from China to the English league and as he is now manager of Shanghai East Asia, could he ever be Palace manager ? I would vote for that.
