The great JOHN JACKSON, with no shadow of a doubt, was just so far in front!

Interesting article about John "budgie" Burridge in the Daily mail online today. Have fond memories of his pre match warm up in the late 70's.

He was brilliant wasnt he...happy days back then...that team (plus the team of the back to back youth cups a couple of seasons or so before) gave me my best times in my Palace supporting life

cant believe he only stayed for 2 seasons, wasn't the biggest but I cant recall him making a mistake, very safe pair of hands.

It's got to be Julian really. He is a superb shot-stopper and usually brilliant at claiming crosses. Has been a bit patchy with that this season but I think that's to do with the back 4. He also has a great kick. Number one from my time at Palace (going back to 1977).

Nige was a master shot-stopper, but a bit iffy at claiming crosses from what I remember. Also his kicks were abysmal - he was in the era where they changed from being able to pass back to keepers to not. Hence him and many others could not really deal with the back pass.

Gabor was class but he never really spoke English. Bad communication with the lads.

Carlo was OK but not a top keeper.

Digby was undone by the 9-0.

The Vassen lad that we loaned from Blues was superb, but not up to Julian's standards. Same applies to Thomas Myhre or whatever he was called. Great loan signing but not the same class.

John Burridge was a good bloke - but mad and not the best goalie. He used to stick his gum on the goal post before kick off, then get it back at half time!

I can't comment on Jacko or Glazer!

Bunny.

Perry Suckling was in goal for the 9-0 at Anfield.

Now I don't have to tell you good folks what's been happening in our beloved little town. Sheriff murdered, crops burned, stores looted, people stampeded, and cattle raped. The time has come to act, and act fast. I'm leaving.

Yes, in fact Gabor Kiraly was not so bad, albeit his English was clearly a handicap.
Nevertheless, he has never forgotten about Crystal Palace and he is still fixing his eyes upon the results of the current squad.

Don't know if anyone remembers the football drama from the late 80's/early 90's The Manageress with Cheire Lunghi as manageress of a 2nd division football team, but in one Episode there is a photo of John Burridge on the office wall that appears on screen two or 3 times

A stockbroker urged me to buy a stock that would triple its value every year. I told him, at my age, I don't even buy green bananas!
