It is nice to know that he is getting the messages of support. Allthough I am dissapointed that we are yet to here anything from Palace themselve's i.e good luck ect ect, so I sent them an e-mail asking if they were planning to say anything.
This club has had some great moments. Ready for some more? |

As leader of our side Geoff never knew the meaning of the word defeat, and I'm sure he will beat this too. I've many great memories of his determination to succeed and want to pass on my very best wishes for another victory.
other teams may try to take me away, take me away, but you know its red n blue Iwill stay, I will stay, all of my life now, till the end of time, because this love is only yours and mine. Glad all over. |

That's a good point - if ever there was someone who'll win a battle it's Geoff Thomas - anyone remeber Keown's face after the Zenith final?

This is desperately sad news. I wish to add my heartfelt hopes that Geoff can be restored to good health. He was a fine combative midfielder and club captain during this clubs most successful period who did not deserve the treatment he got in the media when he played for England. Good luck Geoff

Geoff, you are and will always be the best ambassador for our club. I've been wishing that you'd come back to Selhurst from the day you left and there are masses of the Palace faithful who share that emotion. Hated seeing you in a Wolves shirt being under-valued when back at Selhurst we would all have welcomed you like the prodigal son. Still there's plenty of time to come out of retirement, eh? Kick this leukaemia out to the corner flag (you've done it before - who mentioned 'that' effin' England game .....!!!) and come back to SE25. I'll personally hire the limo and drive you all the way - you can hold me to that! We all await the GOOD news from 'princess'.....

As I recall, Geoff was in the team when I went to my first palace match (I was a l*verpool fan then but I was very young and niaive!) and I was converted so he and the boys must have done something right. It's beatable mate, and you're the one to do it!

I was really shocked when I saw the report on Ceefax today. Every Palace fan is right behind you with your fight. You were the driving force behind the best Palace side I have seen in my time following the Eagles and I hope with the same determination you can beat this illness. All the best Skipper! My thoughts, prayers and best wishes are with You and your family. If possible please pass this on.

I have been a lurker on this web site for quite a while now but this news made me register so I could log my support. Growing up as a Palace fan Geoff Thomas was my boyhood hero! I met him once at a Basketball tournament at Crystal Palace sports centre. Everybody was asking for his autograph and he was only too happy to oblige (Gareth Southgate was there and noboby else except me recognised him - he had only just broken into the Palace squad while Geoff was a big England star!). Even now when I have a kick around I still picture myself as Geoff No 8 bombing around the pitch! I agree with an earlier post - Gray and Thomas were the best midfield partnership I have seen. All the best Geoff - You are a Palace legend. If you fight this disease with the same guts and determination you showed in a Palace shirt your halfway there!
