Yes, a bit late. But if it happened, who would you support? I will always regret that David Davis lost out to Cameron all those years ago: brought up on a council estate, friendly manner, just slightly right of centre. About the same age as Trump, so I'd still have him. But otherwise for me it would have to be Jeremy Hunt or the lovely Penny.
Agreed, Davis as leader would probably mean that perhaps we wouldn't have to experience this 'woke' Tory era to this extent. Dude, I can't see who would make a difference at this stage.

It would be a Sam Allardyce moment for sure, but when you are at 18% in the polls, the only consideration should be how badly you will lose.

Tory Central, like Labour Central, is controlled by the same people. The Tories being at 18% is 100% deliberate. Entire situation is engineered. Labour need a MASSIVE majority to pull the stunts they intend to do in the next Parliament. The Tory wipe out has to be this extreme hence quite simply zero meaningful Governance since forever.

Yep, until they reject the Cameron lists and filters and Tory groups start electing actual conservatives and not social liberals. Gove actually stood up and talked about defending social liberalism as if that's the job of conservativism when it has its own social philosophy....which his party has betrayed along with its base. Absolutely. And lets not forget how the Tories responded to Labour losing what should have been a nailed on by-election. Sunak seemed more upset than Starmer. The Tories are not even pretending to be Conservative anymore. ZERO SEATS. Total wipe-out must be the only goal. And yes, Labour will be just as scummy but at least they won't be making fools of those who voted for them.

People like Sunak and his ideological group care more about their after election jobs than they do about the actual party they control. They are going to lose massively....not due to a popular Labour party but due to the fact that conservative voters won't come out for them.

I'm voting Reform because I refuse to vote for a Tory party who has failed to listen on immigration and, like Labour, have a leadership of flimflam artists.

Yep, Reform are too milk toast for me but if it's the most right wing option on offer I'll vote for them.

I know it’s off subject but yesterday evening it was suggested that Russia has effective opposition parties who poll well in elections and that this makes them more democratic than us. As Putin is about to be confirmed for yet another term I thought this piece right on the money:- I bet Trump will be among the first to congratulate Putin on his well deserved and emphatic victory.

But it is better than being completely scummy for 14 years I guess.
