If we take 3 points from the next 3 games against Sheffield Utd, Brighton and Chelsea that would put us on 24 points from 24 games.
A point a game average is usually enough to stay up and 38 points is likely to be enough this season as the current bottom 3 are unlikely to hit this number.
Looking at this I think that it’s likely Roy will stay until the end of the season unless we cave in against Sheffield United.
Personally I wouldn’t be averse to a change of manager to give the newcomer a chance to bed in and have the whole summer to work on what’s needed for next season.
We surely don’t want a to let the situation to drift and appoint a new manager after pre season training starts (we have history here).
However, I acknowledge that this pre-supposes that there is a preferred candidate ready and willing to take the job now.

To me this is the only scenario where change should take place now and that is the manager that the Club has their eye on for the future is available now which would benefit us going forward. I however would keep Roy for the Sheffield game as the team will be more focused under him knowing what their roles are.
If the manager they really want is not available then we just wait.
Either way I see no reason why we will get relegated. COYP

1) I don't have a personal dislike of Roy.I don't know him.
2) You talk of him not playing youngsters as he needs results.
How's that going?
3) I didn't suggest we'd get a young manager like DeZerbi;I just gave him as an example of a positive manager who will play youngsters knowing that, in his own words, 'they will mistakes.'
His message to them seems to be 'Dare to Dream.'
Roy's message seems to be 'Dare to Dream...and you may get a few minutes at the end of a game we've already lost.'

I don't expect you to agree with the above as you appear to have closed your mind to other possibilities as Roy happens to see them in training which we don't.

Dont accuse me of closing my mind pal. Its YOU thats doing that. You are the one that refuses to see that Roy 1. has forgotten more about football than you'll ever learn and 2. that he sees far more of ALL the players than any of us therefore is far better at picking the right team.
You say smugly about not picking youngsters 'hows that working out'? I'd counter that by suggesting the 5 0 thrashing might or might not have been a 9 0 or a 10 0 (with young players confidence shattered and done irreparable damage into the bargain) had he picked these kids you seem to think will make such a difference. We'll never know either way will we?
You DO obviously have a dislike for Roy despite trying to deny it. You have not one good word to say about him. I personally didn't want him to stay on but I respect the man. I respect the knowledge he has and I realise with the huge injury list and lack of signings means he is working with one hand tied behind his back. All you seem to want to do is moan at him because Franca isn't starting. Like thats the answer and only you see it.

It continues to baffle me that anyone thinks a different manager would get a noticeably better tune out of the same set of players. Thats better, rather than just different.

I'm sure if we appointed Roberto Martinez he would be determined to play a different brand of football, but that doesn't make the players any better, or any more suited to attacking or possession.

We have two ball-playing centre-backs and two talented creative attacking midfielders (or one or none quite often depending on injury). Otherwise, we have the same type of top-flight journeyman pros we have always had.

So, exactly whose 'potential' is being held back by Roy here?!

Is it Mateta? Is he secretly fast and skilful?

Or Ayew? Is he in fact able to take the ball on the turn and pass forward quickly and with quality instead of trying to win free-kicks?

Is it Ward, or Clyne? Are they just bursting to overlap to great effect but being restrained, not by ability and age, but by dastardly Roy?

Maybe it's Lerma, who in his very prime and available for free was of no interest whatsoever to the big clubs?

Or Hughes? Or Schlupp?!

We have the squad that we have, which is largely the best we can afford and attract.

We might get a tiny 'new manager bounce' if we made a change in the dugout now, although we might just as easily go into freefall. Most relegated clubs have two or three managers over the course of the season, as they thrash about in panic.

Let's look at this from a different perspective and ask ourselves, "Could another manager have done as poorly as Roy Hodgson this season?" I think it takes some doing to set up a team as cluelessly as Hodgson does and expect results to change. If defence is the only thing in the locker then you're not going to get many points on the board, and so it has been proven this season.
I think folk, including Parish, are fearful of what change might bring, but Hodgson is going anyway so you'd better get used to it. Certainly a different manager can do no worse.

Our shortlist is probably made up of a few ex players. So Brighty/Dougie/Pardew/Southgate/ we all don't want - but what about say Popovic/Ismael? I wouldn't be totally against it. Popovic perhaps a bit unknown but Ismael (however you spell it sorry) - thinking about it he fits in with quite a bit for us. I'm sure there are others out there.

Popovic is manager of Melbourne Victory in the A-League, sitting joint top after 13 games with 25 points. Crikey, I just did a 'Willo'

It's odds on that West Ham part with Moyes at the end of the season and nick the brilliant manager we were just about to appoint after weeks of protracted contract negotiations, so we run out of time and look for an interim appointment... Roy anyone?

Remember when Pardew stepped in to rescue West Brom after a bad run under Pulis.

Take the lads out to Barcelona, few sherbs, nick a taxi or two.

I seem to remember it being called something like being Pardewed or the Pardew effect. He comes in, team has fun for a while. Then all standards go, everyone's playing cards and womanising and the team falls right off. Sounds vaguely familiar.
I guess, if there's any truth in this, appoint Pardew for a month or two - get the bounce, then don't wait for the end bit. Sack him regardless. A master plan - if totally ridiculous and unbelievable.
