The problem is when people don't challenge racism against black footballers - its not white players who get called "black C---" - its black players like Wilfred do - in that case by a kid if 12 who has learnt that from the people he has grown up with. If the players want to support this kneeling why should we stop them? Exactly!!!

NO the problem starts when you have dickheads for fans who believe that it ok to abuse someone simply for having a different colour skin or even for being gay then start throwing bananas at them, and think it’s only a laugh. What makes it worse your so called good supporters stand there and think it the norm and say nothing until the players protest and take a stand against it by booing the players because what those supporters are n fact saying is let racism be allowed to fester within football. Why!!? because they are racist themselves!! Who do you support then and if it’s not Palace how do you know this happens at Selhurst and how has it affected you? I agree with your first sentence but then you go on to say all fans are racist because they don’t directly support this. It’s this sort of attitude that divides people rather than unites them. You just see racism everywhere whether it is there or not.

No double standard there then. Not that I can see, but I don't look at things from a perspective that wants to find them.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

The media blow everything out of proportion for the sake of sensationalism.

If the players want to support this kneeling why should we stop them? Calling people nasty names has been common at football forever. In recent years it has got less common than ever before. We were making some progress in educating people about anti social behaviour such as racist insults. Now this is likely to be totally undone by the resentment created by BLM who still use terms like 'Black power' and insist in raising fists. All this stuff is inflammatory and divisive. There can never a time when race is irrelevant all the time people use their colour like a call to arms.

So the mobos on bbc. The double standards in racial politics is a barrier to improved race relations. That is obvious.

When a 12 year old kid gets arrested for racist abuse online to a premier league footballer that say a lot ! As for racism in football your message oh “frankly” is crap we have and still have racism on the terrace, look at Man Utd and city last season plus Tottenham and Chelsea it was splashed around in the papers and I’m glad it was.yes it will always be there in one form or another! BUT does that mean you’re going to continue to stand there and ignore it as if it not a problem you say you like zaha but none has yet said that they have confronted racist or reported racist to the police! If so then please show me or better still show him that you are against racism or is that too much to ask!!!?

Let me ask you, Do you think that taking the knee for the next decade will stop dick heads being dickheads? You know the answer, so stop this pretence that you think that BLM will make the world a better place.

I didn’t say that BLM would make the world better I’m asking for the fans to stop being bystanders and speak out to those dick heads or be seen to report them so we can drive them out of football! By standing there and keeping your damn mouths shut you are allowing them to grow! Which makes you part of the problem as you make their behaviour acceptable!
