Cafes, bars, restaurants close tonight. One last big piss up and spread of germs it is then. 80% of wages up to £2,500 paid to people. How long is that affordable? Serious times ahead. It’s affordable as long as the money printer don’t brake. Then we’d be f@cked

We are so far into unchartered waters now that I simply cannot even begin to fathom what comes next. Incredible times to be living through. Happy endings? Who knows. But nothing will be the same again.

But nothing will be the same again. It's unprecedented....the 1920s saw a world wide recession....will this be bringing one in? I tend to think that a vaccine and other treatments will intervene before things get too bad......Besides we never acted like this in the past.....We went through world wars that killed tens of millions. But no one really knows what's going to happen. Edited by Stirlingsays (20 Mar 2020 8.29pm)

And what else can he do? Nothing really but, if this were a Labour Chancellor, they would be ripped apart. Just trying to level the playing field a bit.

The Blitz Spirit There was a peak in robbing from vacant bombed houses and from food distribution outlets in the 1940's. Let's not dress-up things from 70 years ago. When things are scarce, people go robbing. That's how the poor survive
