The more we get into this campaign, the more I struggle to understand why Labour have allowed themselves to get into this second referendum nonsense. An utter disaster for them with it playing badly every time it comes up. Is there a single extra vote in that position for them? Insanity.

Tonight on LBC Ian Dale took apart the Lib Dem Environment spokesperson this is about the 3/4 time in as many weeks when he has done this different people different topics. They all suffer for one obvious reason they don't know their brief. Now I know he is a close to the Tory party but he has a go at them and Labour and they seem to be able to hold their own against him he's not Jeremy Paxman but he knows his facts. If I was thinking of voting for them I would be seriously worried they are from the Diane Abbott school of politics. Tonight all this woman wanted to talk about was the £8m per year we will lose from the EU when we Brexit for flood defences. When asked how much does the UK government spend she didn't know, remember she is their environment expert. Dale had to point out it was 4.5bn pa so £8m is a big so f**king what. They need to up their game because so far I have yet to hear one of their key players have a good argument they just want to parrot what they have been told. Don't get me wrong Tories and Labour have their idiots but boy ever time I hear a Lib Dem spokesperson I groan, do your damn homework.

Agreed sitting on the fence about the biggest political question is not a good look. Labour should have come out as a solid Remain party they may lose some seats but I think they would also gain some. As it is 100 MPS have signed a letter stating they will campaign to Remain which is against party policy. Corbyn is now in the same position as May was his own MPs are actively campaigning against official party policy. As for potential Labour voters "Confused you will be"

As for potential Labour voters "Confused you will be" But even as a solid Remain party, where do they gain the seats? It is a boring point, that is made time and time again but the constituency break down of both the Brexit vote and EU elections points to the reality that it is bloody difficult for a Remain position to win an election. Now in 2017 Labour did bloody well by backing Brexit. It is insanity for them to back away from that.

With a different leader, I think they'd have been more inclined to take a Lib Dem-like stance and consequently take a bigger bite out of their vote. Unbudgeable Corbyn isn't particularly pro-EU though and so he's at odds with the majority in his own party, and this whole 'when it matches our five tests', or 'second referendum, but we're not sure if we'll campaign for in or out' stance is the ill conceived compromise within the party. Whether some will look beyond this confused approach as the election approaches is anyones guess, but as it stands both the Conservatives and Lib Dems at least have a somewhat clear messages and Labour lacks that.

She's living a rock and roll lifestyle apparently. Keep a look out for groupies climbing aboard the lib dem love bus!
