I was wondering if the timing of this appeal has any relationship to the Black Lives Matter movement. I might be might wrong, but could Begum and her representatives be sniffing the possibility that in the current environment she might get a more sympathetic hearing, with institutions desperate to avoid any accusation of discrimination against people of colour?

I think the process has been grinding on for several years so more like a coincidence but I am sure that if they can leverage BLM they will.

If she weighs the same as a duck she is made of wood and therefore a witch.

The issue is that as soon as she is 21, and I am going by memory on this so don't quote me, there is some technicality which means she can only qualify for her British citizenship as opposed to dual with Bangladesh. Meaning the UK government, under International Law, have no choice other than to allow her back as you cannot make a person stateless. Of course HMG will attempt to delay and delay but I suspect that is as much about wanting Labour to champion this girls cause thus giving the Tories ammunition to hurl back at them in the future. People need to steel themselves for the fact that she is coming back and an almighty s*** storm will break accordingly.

I was thinking perhaps a corporate box at The Valley.

Her political value (and I make no apology for being so cold on this) lays in the Tories being able to bash Labour over it. Not having her dead or seriously injured on a pavement with the images all over. It suits all the main players to have her effectively vanish once the initial fuss dies down. The Tories get to bash Labour and Labour get to reassure their new 'Green' wall how much they love them by claiming, quietly, how they got one of their own back. Then they can turn their backs and move on. Westminster will want her to become a non-person.

Police may drop Islamic and Jihadist terms. "Evening all after today's atrocity we are hoping the public can help us.
