I think the club have been smart how they have handled the Sorloth situation. They are likely to recover the vast majority of the fee they paid for him, have his salary covered whilst on loan and, by extending his contract, protect themselves if he does very well in Turkey. Maybe, not very likely but you never know.

Think that is true for Sorloth, for me it isn't the same for Benteke and Wickham because we are paying the 6m and 3m a year salaries. if we extended and loaned out Benteke to recover any form, ok.

Another goal for him last night. Now 7 in 15 appearances, several of which were from the bench. (that's a link to his stats, not his goal) I wonder what the Ts and Cs are with Trabzonspor Edited by Ginger Pubic Wig (16 Oct 2019 6.39am)

Hopefully we can sell him off the back of this and put the whole sorry matter behind us.

Fantastic headed goal he scored but little chance of that at Palace as crosses are a rare thing. If this results in us getting our cash back or, maybe a little on top it'll be a bonus. Doubt he'd replicate it in the PL if given the opportunity but, who knows, look at how Ayew's done this season & the moans when he re-signed.

We might have dealt with the aftermath in a reasonable manner but I’m sure we would have been better off had we never signed him.

It’s a 2 year loan I believe, so we were probably just pleased to get him off the wage bill, I’m sure we’re paying part of it still though. Now if he’s shown some form maybe we will actually get some of the fee back if they want him. However you never know Roy may want him back.. isn’t Sorloth the only one Roy has confirmed was one of ‘his’ signings ..

Not sure I’m bothered who authorised his signing, doesn’t really matter, but from day 1 he has never looked like a PL forward. If we do have him back and he plays well I’m willing to eat my words but I just can’t see that happening if I’m being honest. He is a poor mans Benteke which is not much praise! At a lower level he could do ok and I would be pleased if we get 60/70% of our original fee for him back. Poor signing though in my opinion

Poor signing but that happens in football. I think he would have put in a better shift than Benteke. January is only 3 months away. Edited by EddieMac (16 Oct 2019 6.05pm)
