In short, he has cost us a lot more points this season than opposite! 2 goals scored and a couple of assists compared to all chances squandered - a huge disappointment. Not even 2 x hat-tricks and five more goals rest of the season would disguise that.

Thing is, we can’t have him thinking that way or else we won’t get anything out of him between now and the m end of the season.

roys just got to try and put the right team together who he thinks can keep us in PL he should not be involved bench him he just doesn't give 100% the morale in the team is low when he plays..Sorloth to start with wilf definitely

Parish has stated that Pardew persuaded him to spend all that money on Bentake by asserting that he would score 15-20 goals a season which would go a good way to ensuring safety.
The problem is that when he Benteke does not achieve that sort of return who is going to make up the shortfall of goals?
You may be able to nick a few 1-0 wins but keeping clean sheets has not been a recent Palace strongpoint.
I don’t expect Benteke to necessarily run the channels or score from 30 yards but he should have scored at least 10 goals this season from presentable chances.
This can be the difference between staying up and going down.

Boz, Wilf as you know is injured and is probably going to miss the next one, two or three games depending on the severity. Sorloth and Wilf may work together well in the future but at the moment we probably need to see Benteke on the pitch. I am far from his greatest fan however there is not a lot of choice at the moment. My hope is that Rakip is proving on the training pitch that he is worth the loan move and we may see him introduced at some point in the next game. If he is a box to box midfielder then perhaps we can get away with one big striker on the pitch and then Roy can make the decision as to whether it is Sorloth or Benteke who gets the nod.

Our defence was looking solid don't you think until we started to get the whole raft of injuries. One player after another being replaced, never the same back four together and as good as some of our defenders are, it must be very hard to have continual changes of team mates. Most successful teams are built around a solid and consistently available back four such as Chelsea in their dominant period.

I agree with you that trying to nick a game 1-0 is not our forte, exacerbated by the above, therefore a lack of goals at the other end is always going to cause us trouble. Should Benteke have scored a lot more goals this year? Definitely he should, but no competition for that spot has been an issue.

Good job we know for a fact that Luka would definitely have scored that penalty, and don't have any record of him missing an important penalty in injury time.

The fact that Benteke took the previous penalty & missed it put a whole lot more pressure on Luca when he was taking the next one than there would have normally been. Benteke really should be dropped, fined & sold.

all right pal i drive myself crazy when you see some of other posters when they think that sun shines out of his arse and he does this and that he's not trying hard enough if he was then it would at least be like what he got last season 15 goals he could have been on 20 if not more if he put away chances he's had this season wouldn't he though

Can you quote one post on this thread of someone who thinks the sun shines out of his arse? Driving yourself crazy over an argument that you've made up is quite comical.

EverybodyDannsNow fair enough pal no one's came out and said in a post that the "sun shines out of his arse"in so many other words the minority of his supporters would stay loyal towards him by stating with numbers and assists that he's playing well enough to keep with him in confidence that things would change if he was selected for all the games remaining im just saying that he's not going to get any better i think he's had his chance to win in past 4-5 matches and that's religation form if they was competition for his place he would have been dropped way before now but as with all the problems with injuries that's not happened he's lost his hunger to put ball away and he's not going to get it back no matter how hard he tries i hope for the rest of the team he proves me wrong until then if they was cover I'd drop him
